Wise or Not!!!!
Wise or Not!!!!
Had a drive the other day in a manual and i'm seriously thinking of changing my tip to a maual, I'm i wise or not??? how long do cluthes last etc?? opions please!!!
I would never recommend swapping trannies unless you're a real gearhead
and can get it done cheap and you're going to keep the car forever.
For 99.9% of us, if you reeeeeally want a manual tranny now, trade your
current car for what you want.

never driven a tip, but am very happy with my manual
Yip! Edinburgh.
Really depends what you want from the car, I bought mine years ago for daily use in Edinburgh (Tippy), traffic is brutal. I then decided to do some track days and got completely hooked again (done some track stuff a long time ago) If I had my choice now it would be a manual, just for the track side of things, the Tippy is a great car, I'm using it for the track and I was just as quick as some of the GT3RS's around The Ring, but that was more down to suspension/brake set up anyway. The only issue I have is when you floor it from standing, there is an initial 0.5 second until it registers your gunnin' it! apart from that, it's all good!

Edinburgh, good spot i went there for my stag 6 months ago, also worked in mussleburgh (think thats how it is spelt) for a 1 year and worked in Glasgow up until 8months ago!! i notice that about my car as well not really a problem its just i drove a manual yesteraday and it went like **** of a shovel and it was completely standard so just put me in the mood for one!!
Yes my car running well, it would be quicker than the manual car i drove only because i have mine moddified but when my car was standard it would def not have been as quick as the manual i drove!!!!
Tip is a good thing imo - sometimes i wish i had a tip - most of the time the car is just sitting in the garage lately... snow - and when i do drive it, im glad its a manual, but when i used to have my C2 which was also manual and was my daily driver... i pretty much hated it on a daily basis, right now my dd is automatic - and the turbo is the weekend car, and i never drive it in stop and go rush hour traffic like i did with my C2... i guess its a good balance
Bizarre, honestly both stock cars run the same!
i think it depends on how/where you drive it. i have a 2007 audi A3 sportline with the dsg as one of my daily driver cars and while I find the semi-auto transmission interesting and occassionally fun (and OK on a quick light, FWD turbo car), I like having a better connection to the road that a manual provides. however if my 996tt was my dd and i was dealing with sf bay area traffic everyday, i might tire of the beasts short shifter after awhile. i've never driven a porsche with tip before but i find the control in terms of inertia and steering a 'must have' for being 'one' with the car.
