Its Heavy and Handles, AWD has Diffs everywhere, cheap to modify in comparison, very integrated interior.

Sure driving down the street ill feel like king in the 996, but driving my heart out on backroads and track events ill be king in the GTR

Ahh 50/50
sounds like you answered your own question.
if it is just a cheap high performance car you want get the nissan.

porsche to most on this board is owned because of a long history and heritage and a feeling of connection to a dream car, always know to be a top dog.
after reading your post please dont get the TT, get the nissan, it will suit your needs better

Porsche has decades of racing heritage
The 996TT has proven modification paths
Interiors, a little carbon fiber goes a long way
It's a purpose built race car...and a Nissan is only a Nissan

You can pick up a 2001 TT for under 50K. the same car I bought for $124K 6 years ago.
I still have it even though I also owned a Lambo, a Ferarri, 2 lotuses, M3, H1, MBs.. the list goes on...
Its the best all around super car especially if you want to put on miles.... unlike other weekend ONLY cars...
I also own a Evo8 with 780 hp and I love it... but I get picked on by cops and picked up by 17 year old girls...LOL
make your own decision do not listen to anyone...

Guys, Nissan GT-R has a lot of history as well. This car has been the pinnacle of performance for years in Japan.

I AGREE!

You say the TT "only handles ok" but you also say that you've always wanted one, so you've never owned or driven one then??

Same goes for the datsun, oops I mean the nissan, since you say "it's also heavy but it handles", are you implying that you've already driven one of those?

YES, I biased towards Porsche AND as others have said, it is YOUR money.
IF everyone here said "buy the Porsche" -- buy you WANT the GTR, buy the GTR. You can always sell it and buy the better car (PORSCHE) later!

I'm sorry but the new GT-R looks like ***. I just got the full spread on it in my advanced copies (I get a couple copies every time from them) of Nissan Sport Magazine. The lines on that car are hidious and after spending some time in the windtunnel with some older Datsun Zcars, getting an education on aerodynamics, I'm seriously questioning their "claim" of .27 CD.

There's a lot to love about this car on paper, but until I see one in person, I'm uninspired and would rather buy a new Z06 over it.

One of my employees has a 2003 350Z, and I can honestly say that there is simply no comparison. The Nissan isn't remotely in the same league. Not sure what you're smoking, but it must be pretty damned good.
