Replacing Battery

Is there a specific procedure to follow when replacing the Turbo's battery? I did a quick search, but couldn't find anything. TIA

I did it a few weeks ago. Piece of cake. Jusy open the hood remove the middle cover closet to the wiper baldes. Remove the holding bracket left of the battery. The new battery comes with instructions on the sequence in removing the terminals. You will need to recode the radio after. It took me 15 minutes and I was just being carefull.

Good luck.

Thanks fellas, I asked because I thought I remembered something about leaving the drivers door open, not having the key in the ignition and then letting the car sit for like 10 minutes before starting it. No truth to any of this?

There was something in the owners manual about hooking up one of the terminals first. Check the manual and it will give you detailed instructions.

screw all that

go to your local pep boys, buy a red top Optima battery and go to a Porsche shop and have that bad boy installed. The Optima will not leak and is a longer laster. Also has a self trickle down system

Pistol,

How'd you mount the Optima? I used the factory mounting bits and it seems pretty dicey to me. I definintely would not take it out on the track this way. Around town it is probably ok...

You definitely need to make a couple of mods to get it secure. This guy has a pretty good set-up (albeit for a Boxster) and is what I plan to follow when I install the yellow-top currently sitting in my garage (work keeps getting in the way of the truly important stuff )
