Rear spoiler question
Rear spoiler question
I have just installed a techart type I rear spoiler. The spoiler does not drop all the way now and I have been manually control the spoiler to a degree that it almost is touching the base of the factory spoiler, this leaves the strut exposing a little bit.
My question is when I go over 75mph, the spoiler will automatically raises itself and drops it self down around 37mph. And when this drop happens automatically, how can I control it drop only to a certain height and not retaracting completely as if it drops completely, either the strut that holds the spoiler will damage or the spoiler it self will be damaged. Can some one please chime in on this. Thanks.

Keep it always in the up position
Might want to keep it in the up position all the time has not to damage the wing, struts, etc. I recall a thread that explains how to dis-engage the spoiler motor by disconnecting a few wires.
Also did the spoiler come with extenders or washers to compensate for the extra depth of the spoiler? While spoiler goes down? This should have been taking care of while in design phase of said spoiler.

No, there is no extenders or washers, do you think it should have come with one? And yes, logically it should come with one in order to compensate the needed space.
But even if I keep it up position all the time, are you suggesting disconnecting the wires and therefore it will not automatically engage in the go up or down above 75mph or below 37mph action.

I just had a techart type 1 spoiler installed yesterday at Lucent, Kcphuah. I dont have this problem you are having. Mine came with washers that raise it just a little bit to compensate. Is your wing authentic or replica? Hope this helps.
Mines is a replica from Misha, I don't have any washers to compensate the extra height, but can you please tell me if the washers are specifically designed for the spoiler or it is just a regular washer? if so, what size of washer do you use? Thanks for the help.

Has there been any update on which washers would suffice to fix the problem? I'm contemplating purchasing the Taiwan replica or the Maxspeed Motorsports CF replica but fear that I'll run into the same problem.
Hey kcphuah - your leather seats
I am a new member and can't PM yet, so can you send me your Richmond contact info and I will call you this week from my office? Thanks
