boost

Hello there...Until last week my car was completely stock and boost pressure was 0.8 constant...Last week I installed a BMC air filter and I flashed my ECU on a very well known and respective ecu tuner...I am not going to name the tuner since I believe he is about to fix my following problem...The problem is that the max boost pressure I see is 0.8 to 0.9 Not even a spike of 1bar...i was expecting at least 1.0 bar with spikes of 1.1 My worst problem is that the car goes in safety mode with max boost 0.5 and my OBD reader says P1250(over boost pressure)How on earth could this be possible without even reaching 1bar?I mean this limitation should occure at about 1.4 bar... Also a very close friend of mine(madsex343) did a reflash on a local tuner here in Athens and the results were awesome...1.0bar constant with no codes and safe modes...just pure power...I drove both cars and there is a great difference...Any ideas?

The first this I would do is put the old air filter back in and un hook the battery for 5 minutes. The re attached the battery and try the car.

Did you wash the BMC filter? Check your MAF.

Is it possible to be something about the filter?Oily MAF?I mean it is a little strange, that it occured at the same time I flashed the ECU...The stupid thing is that I did 2 changes at a the same time, air filter and ECU reflash...So I meshed it up...If something was wrong with the MAF shouldnt I read codes regarding MAF?I only get P1250...

You said your tuner is going to fix it, so maybe that issue will be resolved. Good luck with that.

Sounds like a boost leak to me. I don't think it has anything to do with the filter.

I would check all the boost hoses to make sure they are securely connected.

You didn't answer my question....

P1250: Boost Pressure Control Deviation - Above Limit

Possible fault cause
♦ Bypass flaps incorrectly adjusted
♦ Turbocharger faulty

Could be a leak as Adam says, DVs, or still could be MAF.

I was told by respected Tuner that washing BMC filter was not necessary...What does BMC recommend?

Yes,the BMC was washed...Before reflash, the car did not have any boost leak...It is possible that a leak occured due to slightly higher boost?(from 0.8 to 0.9)Is it possible that something is wrong in the program and alerts the limp mode at only 0.9-1.0 bar?

Question

I recently did a GIAC flash, headers, exhaust, cold air intake, and diverter valves. On the way home i was testing out the car... I am holding 1.0 bar... is that about right? or should I be boosting more? If more, than might be my boost pressure hoses? I have the k16 turbos. thanks for the info.

After I ve checked out hoses and DVs and found them to be ok,The company that chipped my car is trying to find out that the problem is...I have good faith on their reputation and I believe that they will solve my issue...The way they treat me is excellent and apart from the result,i will have a good word for them...Lets hope they will fix me car,as well...
