Insurance...Again...

Okay, I know the question has been asked, but I can't seem to get a break when it comes to insurance. I can hop around in search of a good rate, but now I have an umbrella policy and it would be a hassle to move.

My rates went up again by about $35. WHY??? There apparently was a rate increase, WHY??? This car is only getting older. I was told my IRC? and LRC? went down, but the rate increase stuck it up my *** again. This is so frustrating and hoping to find some answers from you guys on how to get cheap insurance.

Currently I'm paying $735/6 months, this includes max coverage, and is including umbrella policy discounts. I have ZERO tickets, and there is an accident on my record that didn't happen. I am currently debating this issue with the provider.

Thanks for all suggestions,
Ryan

My whole policy is under State Farm.

My friend did switch to Geico when he bought his new F250 and the insurance went down a drastic amount compared to his other insurance company, that he had his year old F250 insured under. I can't remember who it was through though.

Off topic: Ryan what was up with Tahoe this year. I've been to Heavenly 3 times now and love it up there. So many slopes to go snowboarding on. I'm going March 14-19th.

My policy is under State Farm for 02 996TT w/100/300 coverage, no accidents, no tickets, 2nd car on policy, 1K deductible, low mileage policy-$936 annually. I even have a rider that states they can't cancel me because I've been with them so long!

Don't forget the credit score thing. A change in that can make the rate go up or down. Just pointing that out because my policy with State Farm got cheaper, even sent a refund. I think I paid something on time or something.

735/6months doesn't seem too bad. I pay a little more than what you pay and I insured my wife (with no incidents) as the primary driver and also told them it was her recreational vehicle which is less than 7000 miles/year.

Your kidding right? I wish I could pay $735 for 6 months. I was quoted $400 per month yesterday.

Jmoney,
This is what I am talking about. I don't know about your history, but the rates are all over the board. I am not subject to an increase in premium for my age, tickets, accidents, or credit.

I guess I'll check into Geico(thanks Paulie) and keep trying to chip away at Statefarm.

Chris, Heavenly and Kirkwood were a lot of fun. We skied thur and friday. Friday was at Kirkwood, and the majority of the mountain was covered in ice. I just stuck to The Reut and Solitude. Heavenly has great in the morning but the crowd was too much after lunch. On Saturday the lines were insane at Heavenly so we just drank all day. Have a blast, hopefully you'll get some good late snow for your trip. Just don't put your GT30 on black.

TXgold, i own an insurance agency in Jersey which has the infamous reputation of being the nations highest premium state. that being said most of my clients with cars similar to ours would be very pleased with a premium of 1500 for the year. i have 3 cars currently with full coverage and am around 1800 for the year for all 3, not your typical scenario for most jersey policy holders but with a great company nontheless.

Ours is $898 per year. Boxster S was $542 with State Farm. Last event with them was 01.

I live in LA and ONLY wish I had those rates! I have 5 other cars on the same policy and I still have to pay $3500.00 a year / 2500 miles just for my 03 GT2...Go figure!
