BBS RS-GT ... diamond black?

I'm considering the BBS RS-GT wheels. They are "diamond black" with a polished lip. Does anyone have these by any chance? Any good pics? I'm wondering if the centers are really black? From the pics I've seen they almost look dark gray. Anyone know how much they weigh? Peter? Anyone? I was going to get some bling bling HREs but I think I'm going to end up going with BBS. On a related note, aside from magnesiums, does anyone know what the lightest BBS wheels are?

BBS RS-GT

I replaced my "Bling Bling" HRE 543R with BBS RS-GT Diamond Black.

Reasons:

543R too much effort to polish and keep clean.
543R were 27lbs front and 29 lbs rear - heavy compared to BBS
(BBS are approx 22lbs front and 25 lbs rear)

With the BBS, I feel better acceleration off the line and they are so easy to clean - just clean the lip and leave the centers dirty.
No regrets at all although I do sometimes miss the "bling bling" look of the 543R.

Nice! It's so hard to tell from pics ... those are the diamond black? Any close up pics by any chance? So are they really black or more like dark gray?? Thanks!

BBS - more like dark grey

In the shade, the BBS look kinda dark grey. In the sun, they look satin grey. Here's another pic:

Cool, thanks for the pics. That was fast! Hmm well I was hoping they were darker since my car is black. I'm not so sure those would look good on a black car. Hmm... I wonder if I could get them painted black black ...

No problem

I agree with you. That's why I just leave the centerts kinda dirty for that darker look. I just clean the lips. You could paint them darker as they are 2 piece.

On a dark car, you might be better off with the silver BBS RS-GT.

For aftermarket, the BBS are light compared to others. I do know that Ruf, Techart and Sportec are heavy.

The stock hollow spokes are almost as light as the BBS.

I do remember that when I had the HREs, I felt the car was slower than with the stock hollow spokes. I use the hollow spokes with Pilot A/S for the winter months and occasionally, the turgo goes for a romp in the snow

Looks great. Maybe add a set of PS2s or a lightweight tire if you don't already have. Isn't the ratio of unsprung mass greater or have an even greater effect when it is on the outer circumference of the wheel, for example the tire weight.

Good idea

PS2s once the P-zeros are worn.

Turbo with stock wheels and Pilot A/S. It's really fun in the snow

Are the PS2s relatively light tires? I haven't seen much discussion of that. Anyone know where to get tire weight data? I searched over at tirerack but I didn't see anything. I guess that's another good question ... what is the lightest performance tire? ... lol. Just what I need, something else to research!

I was told that they were sveral pounds lighter than the Pilot Sports. I cannot recall exact weights, but the general consensus conveyed to me was they were very light weight. I think I can feel a difference with the on my car. Someone over at Renn list on maybe the 964 board had all the tire weight data recently.

About how much do tires weight (estimated)?? In like 18 or 19"??? I am just curious because we just got a set of 18" BBS Mag (1pc) wheels in for the 996TT, but they came with Dunlop SP9000's mounted and balaced so I couldn't see how light they were....

What size and offset and who are you getting them from? Can you get a larger width than stock to use wider tires?
