Stock GT2 wheel size?

Can someone please tell me what the stock sizes are for a 996 GT2? I've heard in threads about 18x8.5" and 18x12" and then I've also seen wheels for sale that are supposed to be GT2's that are 18x8" and 18x11" with the same offsets as 996tt, 50 front and 45 rear. Just looking for clarification. What is the real deal? Thanks

18x8.5 and 18x12 are stock for GT2.

Not sure in the offsets.

The fronts are ET40 and the rears are ET45 for the GT2 wheels.

OK, so I must have the GT2 wheel confused w/the GT3 wheel. Is the GT3 wheel 18x8 and 18x11 et 50 and 45 and a direct fit for 996tt? I have part number 996.362.136.02 and 996.362.142.02 Does anyone know the weights of the GT3 wheels? Thinking of replacing my stock 996tt wheels w/these. Thanks

Thanks Tom, but I was confused, it's the GT3 wheel I'm looking at. I like the look better than my stock 966tt wheels. Just trying to confirm weights and size so I don't make an error. Are the stock 996tt wheels lighter or heavier than the GT3 wheels in the same sizes?

if you are not tracking your car the difference in the wheel weights wont be noticeable.
the GT3 wheels and your hollow spokes are close in weight AFAIK.
Some of the lightest stongest and least costly wheels on the market now are CCW's.
Must admit the GT2 wheels with the 12 inchers in back are great wheels and the price is right!
good luck, but if you are going to change wheels out I would go with something a little better than someones GT3 wheels IMO.

GT3 fronts are fine (ET50), rears are ET63 and come with a 17mm spacer from Porsche. The newer GT3 rear wheels factory fit on Turbos have the part numbers you've indicated (part no.s 996.362.142.02 is the rear ones I think) and they have the correct (ET45??) spacing already, so no need for a spacer.

Complete speculation on my part, but when I was looking for a second set of wheels last fall, I considered selling mine, and I'm pretty sure that these (in perfect nick) were going for around $1500 - $2000 with decent tires. They sure do look good! And based on that price, I decided to keep mine (like I said, they really look good) and picked up a 2nd set (9ff) for the track.

Anyway, thats my $0.02.

Here's a better pic of mine (pre clear sides and PSS9 lowering).

Oh, and while they're reasonably light (I think that they're marginally lighter than the stock hollows, but I might be wrong), you can get some pretty sweet and light wheels for just a couple of bucks more. But I really do like the look of them for the street

Yeah, I agree Superfly, those do look great. I have the techarts for everyday use but i can feel the weight and I am not really diggin the stock look twists and wanted to go back to 18" for occational track day so it was either pony up bigger for CCW's or something like those or find some stock GT3 wheels in the right size. Does anyone track their car w/19"'s? I read an article from European car where they went up in size to 19's and had some very unpredictable side effects. http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0...res/index.html

Depends on your perspective of "a few bucks" From mine, if you're going to drop say 2 large, then 3 is not a stretch (especially considering how much the car cost!!). These would've been awesome! Hell, I'd have bought them myself when they were listed if I didn't already have a 2nd set. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=109136 but there's deals out there to be had. Lots of guys selling their cars and so getting rid of the aftermarket wheels and going back to stock, or maybe they just like to change it up frequently.

Also, curb rash on one, but good price IMHO, https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=106546
