all you have to do is disconnect the front driveshaft. This would effectively make the car RWD.

Yes, but will shut ABS and PSM off when hanging the car out. Yaw control also would be gone.

So, except for ABS it would have all the (lack of) safety features on a GT2?

Yes, that is what I was pointing out, the TT with disconnected drive shaft would be similar to a GT2 except for ABS, both would lack PSM/Yaw control.

Seriously, you can remove the driveshaft, but make sure you lock the output shaft ... unless the center differential is locked. I'm not really familiar with that, so I may be wrong, but I think it's a Torsen.
Anyways, if you just remove the front driveshaft, the output shaft will be turning freely, translating to zero torque goes to the front wheels, which would mean it would also send zero torque to the rear wheels. Wouldn't be much fun. Thus you have to wether lock the differential or lock the output shaft.
Or insert a clutch somewhere.

The GT2 also has a real LSD to help put the traction down in the rear. Last I heard PSM equiped cars do not have LSD (except for the 40th Aniversary 911).

Are you serious? No LSD?

After all, keep the AWD.
