Has anyone done this to any 996s ? The 997s look very nice with all red tail lights and I'm thinking of doing this mod if it looks. If anyone has it, can you please post pics.

I have seen two people on this site who did the dark red tail lights. It is a personal opinion but I like it. Evoms carries them.

Wow! nice. I've always wanted to do this as I don't like the stock look.

I'm thinking any good paint shop can do this.

its really simple to be honest. any good paint shop can do that for u. first they will have to match the red and then do a nice clear coat with a touch of black in it. print that picture above and take it to ur regular paint guy (unless u don't trust him), most paint guys have painted lights before. i only say take the picture so they can see how dark u want it, most people who ask for their lights painted usually want them very dark or all black so its important u say that u want just a light tint of black over it.

also, a good paint guy will do such a clean job that this will be totally reversible (not exactly difficult)... basically sanding down the tinted clear carefully off and then normal clearing it again

 

I like the look, but to be perfectly honest, the 996 Widebody tail lights are just too large. The Clear tops trim the look down.
