Europipe just installed...my first impressions...

Hey Guys:

Thanks to Arling and Tom at Lucent, I now have the Europipe Stage II Loud installed on my 03 TT Coupe. Here are my initial impressions (I know there was a previous thread concerning the Europipe):

1. Cold start sound is better than any other exhaust I have ever heard.
2. Throttle response is much, much better.
3. 18HP...I can feel it...and I'm serious.
4. Resonance is minimal but apparent at some points in the power band.
5. Deep, throaty sound that is just absolutely sick.
6. You can really hear those Turbos spool up.
7. Craftsmanship and quality is better than OEM by a huge margin.
8. WOT sound is just insane.

I know there were some questions on whether the exhaust was worth it. IMO, there is no doubt in my mind that it is worth the money. I do not feel any concern related to longevity or quality and I am more than satisfied with the sound. A deep and throaty sound was what I wanted and Europipe delivers this better than any other exhaust I have heard on the TT.

Best mod I have made yet.

Lastly, much thanks to Arling and Tom. Once again they prove that they are the best in the business. I don't even consider taking my car anywhere else. Arling's sense of taste and style is fantastic and Tom's technical knowledge about our cars is amazing.

I'll try to post a sound clip in the next few days.

Congrats on the EP 2 Loud, it's a great exhaust!

As for hearing the turbos spool up, I think it's really what Europipe describes as "Exhaust has both high and low pitch tone". I don't think it's the turbos. I like the sound either way though.

I don't know Dock. I think I have to disagree with you on that one. I can swear I hear my turbos spooling up too. So have others that have heard my car.

Oh there's no question that there is a turbine-like sound, I just think it's the exhaust piping. Why would EP say the exhaust has both a high and low pitched tone? Why not say "It has a low pitched tone, and you can hear the turbos spool up"?

collin996tt is infamous around these parts
Only time when I can hear the turbo spool is when I'm crawling up hill in 4th at 2000rpm then increase throttle gradually.
That's when road noise and everything else is quiet enough to hear the turbo whoosh.

How does the EP sound in a tunnel with the windows down?
How does it sound at 5800rpm+ in second and third gear?
Can you hear it distinctly 3/4 mile away like a 360?
Does it bark when you engine brake in 2nd?

Most exhaust I have seen talk about the turbo spool sound...fabspeed, europipe, etc...I tend to think that is the sound of the Turbos that you hear. Anyone have any technical info on that?

KPV...thanks for the pic. The only difference is that I have the dual exhaust tips. It's a work of art.

Sound at higher RPM's is just outstanding without being too loud or whiny. In a tunnel...had a chance to hit it in an over pass and it was a head turner. Don't know if you can hear it 3/4 of a mile away...

Bottom line, no other mod has made me happier!

Anyone in the Dallas area have the Europipe? Would love to meet you somewhere for 2 minutes just to hear it. I've got a modified stock exhaust and looking for something "more" ...

The above special Europipe is a one of a kind.

I have installed just about all the different exhausts available on my car, B&B, EVOMS, Fabspeed, Ruf, Europipe Stage II Quiet and now the Europipe 85 mm.

Europipe is.......simply the best!
