2003tt is infamous around these parts
Source for CF Mirrors

I have a silver 996TT and am considering adding black CF outside mirrors (I have the full CF interior already from the factory).

What's the difference between the CF covers and the complete CF mirror housing besides a lot more work and cost? Is this all about cosmetics or is there something else I should be aware of?

Any suggestions on good sources for them? I see them on ebay but have to question the quality and fit.

TIA

The difference between covers and a complete housing is that the covers are going to be stick on and IMHO just a place for wax to build up. Our mirrors are factory parts covered in carbon fiber just like the factory does for all of it's carbon. The fit is perfect and they are very durable.

I am very confused on this. I plan on ordering my cf mirrors today. The cf housing is much nicer than the covers in my opinion. But the price is confusing. I have found the cf housing for as little as $399, some at $550, a few at $850, and one at $1025. They all look identical in the photos. Has anyone purchased any of these that they did not like?
