K16/16g Question

So, Ill be getting an X50 996 TT soon, and I want to do a simple but powerful upgrade., few questions:

Would I bet better of just tuning up my Stock K24s that the X50 comes with or might I make more power with a K16/16g setup which is great for track and street?

If i did switch over to the K16/16g, who is the current leader of tuning this setup, Ive read Vivid and EPL can do quite well with this system..whom might i get more power or would there be a huge difference with the soon, With EPL i could possibly do a custom tune since itd be close by

With k16/16g, would adding a 5 Bar FPL, And possibly Injectors make a different in the power output i could get..

The X50 already has different headers, i like low end torque, would it be suggested to switch headers with this setup? id obviously be getting a better flowing exhaust.

Would I need an Intake for this setup, or is the Stocker one good enough.. and if so, can someone clue me in about Protomotives intake... Ive read a lot about EVOMs, but i dont want any MAF issues.. If id be ok with the stock, id be happy to just upgrade the filter..

Would upgrading the intake throttle body, and tube be helpful for this setup?

Would wastegates that Dump out the header be needed or suggested ?

Would i need to do internals, id perfer not to..

Sorry for all the questions.. just trying to get some info down to put together a sweet setup

Thanks for your time..

The X50 does not have different headers then any other TT, I would keep the K24's and get a flash. I would do an exhaust system and DV's , CIA box and of course the flash. At these levels you don't need any fuel..yet.What you change all depends on the power output you want.

To be honest, I would stick with your k24's since they are already installed on the car.

Just add upgraded wastgates, a 5bar and a flash.

Dont get me wrong, I feel that the k16/16g's are a better turbo then the k24's, Im just not sure you will find the difference between the two that much better to be able to justify the effort to switch.

We do have upgrade paths for your stock k24's as well. We're currently testing a new k24 hybrid that is showing very positive results.

Shoot me an email or PM if you would like to discuss further.

God knows I'm the biggest cheerleader for K16/16gs, but I have to concur with Tony & Alan. The only reason to switch would be if you wanted the fastest spool possible.

Working on it as we speak. Hopefully very soon. For right now, the car just shoots to redline any time I pass 4500rpm under boost.

this is what I have and have done. this by far is the biggest bang for the buck.
Get Todd at Protomotive to hybrid the k24's and his flash. they come with the upgraded wastegates.
this car has massive power, speed, acceleration, no notable lag.
No brainer with the X-50.

Tom,

Was your X50 flashed before the 24/18G's? I'm curious as to the difference between a flashed K24 and the K24/18G's...

And I am happy and relieved you like the new package so much.
