A friend of mine has a set of 20' Techart formula for his 997 C4S, will I have any clearence problems on my 996tt? I am planning to drop with PSS10 coils, the wheels are:

Front: 20x8.5 et 52
Rear: 20x12 et 48

tires:

front: 245/30/20
rear: 325/25/20

Try this site to make a comparison. Type in the stock 18" specs and compare them to the 20" specs. As a point of references I have PSS10 with
Front 19x8.5 et43 235/35/19
Rear 19x11.5 et39 315/25/19
I had to have the rear lips rolled not to have any rubbing with -1.5 camber

Best idea is to ask your buddy to put his wheels on your car and see if the work. You might also call wheel enhancement in LA.

It is engineered for 18" and 19" look and work surprisingly well.

20" is pimp, and you are not one.

Got it, I thought they looked amazing on a 997tt, thinking that they may look good on a 996tt as well.

Looks are one thing, Porsche Performance (as intended) is another.

Depends upon use I suppose. If you are more into see/be seen at the local
restaurants then the 20's may be fine. If you ever intend to get your car sideways
or do some 8-9/10ths driving, stick to the 18 or 19"

i still can't put my finger on why the picture above looks strange.... i've stared at it for like 5 minutes already..

hey tialsport, when you're running your 20" wheels, with that setup in the picture, are you still preserving the correct overall diameter (wheel+tire)? just looks bigger than my 19" setup

 

20" on a 996 is "hot"
