JIC longevity before I take the plunge (TIA)?

Hi.

Dan at Vividracing has been super and I am about to take the full suspension plunge....

His StageIII JIC 8/12 kit, front H&R and Agency Power front super beefy drop link (not the JIC...) is my plan. I'm throwing in his new shifter linkage in the mix for security/peace of mind....

My question(s):

Other than the famous original JIC drop link issues (they have supposedly solved this....), has anyone had longevity issues with the shocks...I expect Bilstein like reliability. Am I being very, very naive?

Anyone have them at 80% soft and use them like that on the track (compromise to avoid messing with the bose sub for a bit....)?

I want to hear about support (non-link issues as I am avoiding the JIC link and using Dan's beefy link up front...), wear, and the like. My googles on JIC put me into Honda and Mazda forums in 2005 that were not flattering....

Anyone have them relatively not dropped much? I have bad gas stations in my neck of the woods, etc. Driveways, shopping malls, etc......office parking lots....

If bad, I might just do PSS10's....or KWv3's.

(31 views as of 5PM EST 4/23/08.....no replies. I called Cross and 2-3 years for replacement/rebuild.......just wanted some personal experiences....does it go from good to bad fast, or is it a slow death...)

JB

JB,

I have around 2k miles on mine (I know, not a lot)..and have no issues. My drop links have been fine. They don't make any noise or give me any problems whatsoever. I'm running the soft springs at GT2 specs.

mose55 is infamous around these parts
Don't worry so much...I think you will be fine. I have only had mine on for 4k miles and 10 track days since last summer when I had them installed with GT3 bars and sturdier DL's. No problems. But ride is pretty harsh if you street it alot...pavement grooves and wavey roads are not my suspension's friend. Also kinda noisey when you hit bumps. I have messed around with the dampener settings but truthfully, have not been able to tell that much difference. The full joy of this setup is at the track...particularly fast ones like Watkins Glen. It does pretty well for a heavy, 4wd track car...
