Low boost?

I'm up in Michigan now visiting a friend of mine (Josh) who just recently purchased an 01'tt. Yesterday the FVD pipes and chip arrive. We put them on .. ran the car for about an hour or so. Low and high runs my head was sucked back into the seat . It feels very similar to HABITAT's car (AWE exhaust, Upsolute chip). The bar readings only went up to 0.4-0.5 Later that night we took out his M5 wich screams! Alot of work done to it .. (headers, cats, pulleys, chip, exhaust ...ect.) Drove out to the country around 11pm, and found some nice 2-3 mile straights with no cars. Ran the turbo against it on the highway from various rolling starts. 30mph to 160mph/80-100mph to 160mph+. They were both pretty much neck and neck. The turbo would pull a little bit .. not much though. Once again the bar reading went up to 0.4-0.5. Now the weather was super hot outside. I'm guessing in the high 80's with 100% humidity. Can this take a big effect in the Porsche's performance? Diverter valves were also installed a few weeks ago. Basically theirs a big question mark over our heads on the low bar situation, and how the M5 is right there. Could the Porsche be in a safe mode? or one turbo isn't working right? .. Diverter valves? Bar readings are inaccurate on the tach? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Seriously, the FVD pipes shoot flames. What kind of cat or is it cat by by-pass. Think I am immature enough that I would buy the FVDs just so I could shoot flames at night. Sounds fun and would certainly scare little old laddies at the stop lights around here.

Like I said on the phone I am 90% sure it is a Diverter Valve hose... Happened to me and just about everyone else I know... If that isn't it we will go from there, but I am almost positive that is the problem...
Evan
PS-Yes they do shoot flames and scare old people . I put these pipes on expecting to have them on for 2 weeks then go back to my FVD exhaust, but its now been almost 2 months and I am thinking about selling the exhaust!!!!! I will do a video at night sometime with the flames!! Fast3, you should take some pics, I know you are a photographer, some flame shots would be cool!!!

We are going to check the valves once the engine cools off. I think Josh might disconnect the battery now.

OK. WE FOUND IT!
it ended up being a valve that is supposed to stay closed to build the boost, then open. Mine was just staying open so the boost could never build. I dont know the name of the valve, but it wasnt the diverters. The car now pulls a steady .8 and am even seeing 1.0. this is with the stock ECU. Man am i a happy dude right now.

josh.

Yeah Josh!!! If I didn't have to fly back to Philly lastnight, we could've raced the M5 and TT against each other to see the real comparison. We'll do it in a few weeks.

Should be no match. I have an S2 M5 that runs 12.8xx and the stock TT pulls many lengths to 100.
