Anyone have any experience with the tiptronic leaking.. not sure of the correct parts names.. but at the transfer case..? Its location is a little foward of the rear tires.. wondering if its a major job to repair

 

well it seems that Porsche dealers only change the whole transmission out, they dont sell parts(gaskets) for certain parts on the tiptronic... so will be having it repaired by an outside shop that says they can get all the parts etc for it from mercedes being its a benz transmission... way to go PORSCHE ;(

waiting to have someone look at it to see what the leak is and if it can be fixed.. will let you know what happens.. keeping my fingers crossed for a repair and NOT a replace.

 

update..... my repair shop says its a bad gasket... and it can be repaired... you have to go thru mercedes benz to get parts for the transmission... thats all I know for now... he cant work on it till monday or tuesday.. so wont have any more info till then

 

if you can take some pics and some part numbers it will be very useful !!!

 

pictures cant... its the big gasket that is between the 2 halfs... i dont know part # I might when I get the bill

Porsche does not sell all the parts for this transmission... you have to go thru a mercedes benz serice book to get the proper parts... Porsche just wants to sell you a NEW transmission.. they dont want to fix it... Speak to a mercedes repair shop for parts not listed with Porsche.. I will let you know what happens with my leak as I know more.
