Oil Change?
It's not the manual....it is the latest TSB....0W40, 5W40, 5W50 all approved.
Easy,, there is a small drain plug that is clearly visible. It is at the bottom of a small oil resevour just behind the turbos. You will see it. Make sure and get a total of 4 crush washers and 1 filter for the job. 8.5 quarts of oil as well. To drain the oil tank it takes 2 big wrenches, you need to back up the lug on th botom of the tank and the tank drains fast. Really fast!!!
I never drain the turbos...
Did it once, and saw the tea spoon of oil it produced and decided that as often as I change mine, it'll keep.
Always change the oil filter when you swap the oil.

Mobil1 0W40 is the type that has had changes to the base stock, and is what I've switched from, due to that change...

Conclusion of post first: If you look in the manual, the interval is well over 3,000 miles per change. So, each of us has to do what we feel is prudent.
Body of post (skipping ok as it just concludes with the above): I for one feel the cool down is the critical step...1 minute if I have not be on boost, 2 minutes if I have been on boost within 10 minutes. My rule. No data ok...just reading lots of posts here and asking around. Also, not abusing it (full boost cold, etc.).
I plan to change my fluids q 7500 miles. Perhaps once extra for DE days.
My diff fluids after 1 DE that was over 3 days (green) and 30k miles, per a master Porsche mechanic, were pristine. Tranny/front/rear. I suspect the prior owner cleaned then up at the sale mileage at 15,000 and I am pretty nice to my car(s) always (OK, I baby her). May be just my luck. I don't know. I'll do them at 60k or 45k...I plan to check them every 7,500 with oil changes. Shifting is superbly smooth. It is deliberate to avoid a money shift too..... I mentally take a split second to pause in shifting, even on track...my way of being smooth. If I ever need to race...I won't bother doing so without a sequential box paid for by a sponsor.
Probably on a cup car or some such beast.
If I could get 5w-50 Mobil 1 in the US I would use that. Until then, I am going to either use 5w-40 turbo diesel/Delvac as per Mikelly or 0w-40. I don't think I as an end user push the car beyond this plan..... 550hp or so.
Anyone know a place to get 5w-50 mail order M1?

How is the Eneos 5w40 in japan? more expensive than M1 5w40 ?
It's all about the ZDDP additive... (anti-wear additive)
the new SM cert gasoline engine oils have very low ZDDP levels.. i think the max allowed is 800 PPM. (low zddp increases catalytic converter life)
Also, the new SM oils have less detergents and less acid neutralization.
M1 0W40 is a SM Cert oil now.
That's why I use M1 Delvac Truck and Diesel 5W40.

So, that's why some people said they can get oil from Walmart; I do know that they sell Turbo Diesel M1 and not the one for European cars.
