Brake upgraders--Any problems?

Just talked to Suncoast Steve about the GT3 front 6-piston caliper, 350mm rotor, brake upgrade. I asked him if anyone was reporting ABS warning lights or other brake computer problems, such as Mikelly has mentioned. He told me that he has sold many of these kits and has had no complaints. So, I'm wondering if this problem is confined to Mikelly, who runs his car on the track, or has anyone else seen brake warning lights from the upgrade, either on the track or street? I really want to do this upgrade if there are no problems associated with it.

This is a great trouble free upgrade, do it.

The problem I experienced was after long hard sessions on the track at the later part of the second day. The front GT3 350MM upgrade is sufficient for all but the most track dedicated enthusiasts.

I'd still recommend the rear 350MM setups as well, but do what you can as you can.

Guys,
for similar money, what would you recommend I do between the GT3 350mm setup and the Brembo 14" 6 pot kit?

not sure how it is "similar" money but the new brembo caliper is better and what I have. it has a reinforced back piece that cuts down on flex.
if similar prices go with the new brembo

below is mine see the cross piece in the back, that is not there on the old GT3 caliper

Thanks, Tom. I have a personal connection with very fair pricing so the cost difference may almost be negligible when you consider pads and lines and such...

I am leaning towards the Brembos. My ONLY hesitation at this point is having to upgrade to new track wheels that will clear...

Remember, all Porsche brakes are made by Brembo. It is stamped right on the calipers, then Porsche puts their logo on the front of the caliper for all to see.

The 14"/355mm brake kit will be fine under 18" wheels. The 380mm kit needs 19" wheels (but I think some have fit them under custom 18" HRE's).

Like Tom said, the new 6 piston caliper is MUCH better.

Do you know what 18's will clear these? So far I know the CCW's, BBS Race wheels, Volks... What else will work?

I'm sure that this has been asked before so I will continue to dig around in threads but if anybody has a few off of the top of their heads, I'd appreciate it. I'm currently leaning towards the CCW's if I go this route. Unfortunately I recently picked up a set of GT3 wheels (996 18's) in turbo offsets for my track setup but am told that these won't clear!?!

I went with CCW but the stock wheel was so close to fitting that if you "wanted" too a touch of "machining" of only 1-2mm where it is close "can be done" I was given this option by my shop and turned it down, I just mention it because it may be an option for some.
