Short throw shifters for TT

My next plans for the TT is a Short throw shifter. I was thinking of going with the B&M from AWE. Does B&M sell just one shifter for the TT, or do they have different models. Also does anyone have any other recommendations for a SS?

go for the OEM. for the piece of mind, it's worth the extra. btw, it does feel different than B&M.

I am not sure which OEM you are referring to. Does Porsche make an OEM SS for the TT? Also from a little research from different places, there seems to be a blue or red colored B&M shifter? One website AWE shows a blue base to the SS, and a 50% reduction, where another site shows a red base with a 30% reduction. Any ideas to which is preferred? Sounds kinda sad, but the 2002 M3 cab has a shorter throw than the TT. And damn, I miss my shifter in the S2000 I had 2 years ago.

Actually the SS from Porsche is the same exact shifter as the B&M. I would buy the one from A.W.E. , You will save alot of money and the guys at A.W.E. are great to deal with

M3, if you don't like the notchiness that the B&M SS kit for console will give you, try the kit that mounts on the bottom of trasmission. Feels quite smooth with nice shortened throw. Very good on both street and track driving.

I can say this is why I love this forum. Now you guys are kinda steering me towards looking at the OEM SS kit. Can I assume that I just go to the dealer and order this? Now I guess what is confusing is ....is the OEM a B&M?

Have you looked at both shifters? I personally don't think there are any mechanical difference between them. The "notchiness" could easily be the particular car and the way the B&M was adjusted.

No way I would spend the extra money for a Porsche short shifter...it's made by B&M, and is the same shifter (except for color) as the one you buy from B&M.

I don't doubt that you felt a difference between the two you tried...it's just that I don't think the difference was anything more than the car and/or the installation or adjustment difference. The two shifters are not mechanically different.

The decision an owner makes as to which shifter to buy shouldn't, in my opinion, be based on the assumption that all OEM short shifters will feel different than all B&M in-car short shifters.

Thanks Dock for the insight about these SS. From all of the information, B&M is the way to go. Thanks again.

Guys,
we installed OKHJOON190's oem ssk & many others. u can say whatever u want until u feel it. it is different. OEM ssk comes with entire base unit unlike B&M. i still sell B&M ssk but i tend to ''suggest'' my customers the one that feels better. well, some do choose save the extra $, some don't.

i'll post pic when i get more next week.
