That manheim site is garbage. Everytime I asked what wholesale was my dealer happily showed me that site. I then would ask my friend who owns a BMW store to make some calls and the Porsche guy so eager to show me the Manheim prices was off market by $10k. I do not know what goes on at this Manheim auction, but, it is not indicative of pricing, at least not around here, not even close.

Here is some very recent data from the Atlanta area.

4K Mile SG TT 6-speed - trade for a new 360 $82.5 wholesale
2K Mile PS TT 6-Speed - $82K wholesale

The later car is mine. I got that number from a mid-west dealer 3 weeks ago when my GT3 came in.

The former was a car being traded yesterday when I was ordering my car. I have known the Ferrari Dealer for over 20 years. He tells me that he does not stock any P car, he wholesales them immediatly. His process is calling the bigger stores in the midwest and Florida. His numbers represent the real wholesale value of the car imo.

Last year, when I traded my Cab for a new one, I checked trade numbers in Florida, Atlanta, and the midwest. There was a $5K swing in the numbers, I ended up getting the higest number in Atl.

That is a super low mile car. Not to mention, and no offense, they probably charged full list on your new GT3 so profits were high enough to throw a couple grand extra into your car. Again, with the 360 huge profit margin car. Just my $.02. Thanks alot for data though, it is very helpful. The cars I posted have much higher miles so maybe as the miles go up, it would be closer to the high 70's number I mentioned.

Might be true on the GT3 trade. On the Ferrari those are the hard numbers the dealer got from shopping the car. That guy doesn't give you a penny, he knows he doesn't need to (and he showed me the list of who bid what).

I agree with you, the higher mileage cars are probably in that range..

$90k is to much. Options don't mean a thing on resale. As mentioned above a lower mile car got $82k wholesale, which means even at the number, your "friend" is trying to make $8000 more than the car is worth. I would offer $85k, not a penny more, or he can trade it if he wants and get $82k if he's lucky or maybe more like $80-81k. Good luck and welcome

Who i thought that was a good deal, cause every other tt i found had lot's of miles and they still were $85,000 to $90,000. Plus they were stripped in options.

Accomplice is infamous around these parts
There are TT's out there as low as $73,000 (6 speed car w/ 52,000 miles).

Other 6 speeds I found advertised:
yel/ blk 10,150 miles $82,000
sil/grey 7,340 miles $79,900

There are some good deals out there.

Lou,

I disagree with everything you say in you post!!!

"$90k is to much. Options don't mean a thing on resale."

That is just simply not true. Options may not mean a thing to a wholesale dealer, but to consumers options can mean a great deal. I absolutely wanted NAV, some carbon fiber pieces, and other assorted options, and I was definitely willing to pay for them when I bought my car used. I would not buy a bare bones car and I not only found pricing differences if there were good options, but I was more than willing to pay a premium for them. Why don't you tell all the turbo owners with the X50 option that it has no value on resale?

"As mentioned above a lower mile car got $82k wholesale, which means even at the number, your "friend" is trying to make $8000 more than the car is worth."

Complete rubbish!!! How can you compare a price that a dealer is willing to take in at complete wholesale with what prices are in the real world between end customers? What the dealers trade at are usually total lowball numbers! The "friend" is trying to make $8k more than the car is worth!??!?! That is just absurd. Do you base the worth of any item on what that item sells for at wholesale? If so, how do you go about buying any item in your everyday life without feeling completely ripped off all the time? Do you walk into WalMart and when buying a pack of gum tell the checkout girl that if she sells it at 75 cents she is ripping you off for the 25 cents profit they made?

"I would offer $85k, not a penny more, or he can trade it if he wants and get $82k if he's lucky or maybe more like $80-81k."

Frankly, I think $90k is a reasonable price for a loaded low mileage 996 TT from a friend where you know the history of the car. Sure, if you spent a bunch of time searching around you may be able to find one for $85k where you would need to travel, pay shipping costs, pay for a PPI from an unknown shop, not know the cars history, etc.... Is it worth it? That is up to you, but I think your "friend" is completely inline with his asking price.

Have to agree with Michael on this one. People will pay more for options, but the dealers won't unless it's an X50!
