I think if you can get $85K for your car, you should take it. The 36K miles offsets the fact it is an MY02 instead of an MY01 and the 01s are going for less than that. My friend tried to sell his 01 for months before deciding to keep it... and he was only asking $75. The problem was that the car had too many miles (almost 45k miles). The problem is that there are so many with so little miles. YMMV, JMHO...

85K is a great price for your car, TAKE IT AND RUN (unless you like your buddy, and don't wanna "rip" him). Your car is prob. worth more like 80K or less with than many miles. To give you an idea, a buddy of mine just bought an 02 996 TT Metalic Black/Grey with 7K miles for 82K....

Take the money and run. With those kind of miles it will be hard to beat that number. Why are you selling it? What do you have your sleeve Dario?

82K!?!?!?!? for an 02 with 7K miles?!?!?! Was it an automatic or in an accident? That's ridiculously low for an 02 with so few miles. Either something had to have been wrong with it, or, the TTs' value have just plummetted in the past few months.

I agree. Evan, what is the deal with that car. There has to be more to the story. That is less than the car would bring at the sale even on a bad day.

Where do you guys come up with these numbers. It is almost like some of you like scaring these other guys! Here are the most recent sales from manheim auctions around the country.

08/14/2003 MANHEIM $ 88,500 11,177 SEAL GRY 6G 6 X NE
08/28/2003 MANHEIM $ 85,000 7,501 SILVER 6G 6 X NE
08/14/2003 MANHEIM $ 79,000 26,858 YELLOW 6G A X NE
08/21/2003 RIVRSIDE $ 69,500 51,233 GREEN 6G 6 X WC

You guys are right , after thinking about it, my buddy's car might be an 01!! I paid 107K for my 02 with 2k miles.... I still believe with that many miles the car is worth 85K (to both parties). Privately I would work for 90K, but I can't see anymore then that.
Sorry for the scare
Evan
BTW-Captlst:Gotta love Manheim...however keep in mind, most of those cars are not clean, usually bone stock... our dealership uses that for an idea but thats about it...trust me I go to the West Palm Beach sale, very hard to find a nice clean car....

I own a Paintless Dent repair company and have access to the Manheim site because one of the guys I work for gave me his user name and password to fuel my knowledge of what cars are worth.

The high mileage green 6 speed mentioned in the auction report above has to be the one a dealer has for $73Kish on autotrader.com right now. Hmmm interesting to see what they mark 'em up.

Here is the best buy I found on a Turbo. Obviously this is asking price, prior to any negotiation. If dealer wholesale was more, he wouldn't be asking $82k.

Additional Selling Points: 911 Type 996 Twin Turbo New Pirelli P0 in rear Includes Porsche Child Seat

BTW, not trying to flame with above, as I have a turbo myself and it is pretty depressing. Hope this helps
