PSS9s....

I know this has been talked about (mostly speculated about) before, but now that some of you have had PSS10s on your cars for a few months, any words on how they compare to the PSS9s? Is there a difference in the max and min ride heights between the two? Do you notice the valving differences? Just wondering how the new guys fare... Thanks!

Hmmm.... I think I found saw somebody mention that the PSS10s sat lower (at max speced height) than the PSS9, and that the valving is different. But as with most things, it's more likely to be true if more than one person experiences it. =)

Viperbob would know since he is a shop owner/Indy/reseller and installer of said parts...

If you have PSS9s, I'd not "upgrade" to another inferior shock... Oops, did I say that? Me? The guy who's been claiming his PSS9s are great? Yea, I did... PSS9s are one step below the next favorite brand in the price range. The camber monoball/pillows make that shock a little nicer setup, along with possibly a slightly better valving/adjustment... But if you already have PSS9s, I'd not "upgrade" to anything else unless you do some other mods in more important areas...

Control arms...Mainly lower GT3 varients, But Vivid and others are selling tubular uppers that look pretty cool too...

Toe Links... Your Tie rod ends on these cars are called TOE links... Upgrade those and you'll thank yourself later.

Adjustable Sway bars... GT3 or anything that is adjustable would be a good starting point, but do not forget the...

DROP LINKS! Tarred, TRG, Vivid, and others make adjustable, stronger drop links. You WILL snap the factory drop links... When is the question.

Last, you could get camber plates for your PSS9s. Some say these are not worth the expense... Who knows. If you go with the GT3 lower control arms , you may still want the monoball setup so the top of the strut isn't in to much of a binde.

Before you think about spending more money on "new" shocks/coil overs, I'd look into these other areas and make an "OK" coil over perform better! You might find that the shock works for you if you improve the other areas that require the attention of the parts list above!

Thanks guys. It's certainly all good advice that all of you have given. The problem is, I've added an extra constraint on my upgrades, and that's PCA mod points. I need to count the potential seconds (or fractions thereof) in lap time improvements per points carrying upgrade. It's a false-constraint... I don't have to keep the car competitive in it's class, but it really is fun. =)

Coilovers put me up 1 class, so i'd like something that both potentially drops a few seconds off lap times and keeps the car very streetable - including driveway clearance with the aerokit. That's why I don't want to end up too low.

A couple of the local, very well respected, race shops have warned me of reliability and build issues with JICs... They seem to feel that the best next step after PSSx's are the Motons. I know others are thrilled with the performance of their JICs, or KWs... I wish I could try them all!
