gas prices

just wondering... if gas prices keep going up . any of you thinking about selling your car to get something that gets better MPG? Just wondering if the resale prices on these type of cars are going to decline quicker then they have in the past year.. I hear people with money even complaining about fuel costs are out of control... the winter is going to be very hard for low & average income people when they get their natural gas & oil bills to heat their homes... seems like we are in for a rougher ride in months to come... and this is one ride I am not enjoying...... we really need things to change for the better soon here in the USA.

Thankfully these super cars deliver acceptable 20+ mpg's; this one stays. I am glad I don't have a guzzler to feed. Once we (USA) announce that we will begin drilling for our oil, the prices will drop.

I consistently get 20 or above on average. I have a 6sp manual which could help a little bit but it is also flashed. I can use it around town or on the highway getting anywhere from 19-24 mpg's.

Last week drove from Dallas to Austin and averaged 21.3 mpg, not bad for a supercar.
I am discouraged with the prices and think that the price per gallon will go up even more, but I am keeping mine to avoid losing my sanity..

I dont think anyone with a Porsche will consider selling their car because of gas prices.
And on a side note, I burned 120 gallons of fuel with a smile the entire time this weekend in my boat. We cant stay in our homes and worry too much about it.

I get 160km per fill up (45L) .. around 10mpg? And gas here is $1.8 per L.

At the end if you have to worry about gas price all day long may be 996tt is not the right car for you I suppose...

I only get 10mpg and run MS VP 109 only. It cost around $10.50 per gallon.

It's true that if you have half a million dollars to spend on cars (read CGT), then it's understandable that you'll not worry about $5 gas. However, if you're like the mere mortals on this board, then you saved your nickels and dimes to get your used, 6 year old 996tt because you've always dreamed of owning one and now you have to start saving your pennies to pay for the gas to drive it.

Personally I refuse to alter my driving habits in the slightest because I know prices will come down as demand declines from my neighbors who make less than half what I do, but it still more money then you planned on spending, and that's never fun.

But there is nothing that we can do. Keep on enjoying life it has nothing to do with income.

Demand is not driving the price of gas up. It is market speculation. Artificially I might add.

If an increase in gasoline costs of a couple thousand dollars a year materially effects your ability to sustain your driving habits, you have no business driving a car costing more than $25,000. It all boils down to living within your means. Thiose who don't or live on the edge.....Oh well...that's that way the ball bounces and the pain is self induced.
