The mods scare the crap out of casual buyers, esp the RWD. Return it to bone stock and sell off the parts later. Otherwise you may have to go to the mid 40s.

I just got a white 2004 Cabrio with 45k miles for $65,000 I guess that a 2002 like yours should be $49,000 tops

just fyi, i just recently purchased my first 996TT, at 50K, with 28K miles, flashed with exhaust in great condition...so I'm guessing you would have to sell around that price... maybe just into the high 40K's to get some interest. GL, it's a great looking car, and yes, I was looking at mods but the RWD would've probably turned me off being new to this type of vehicle.

The RWD, replaced trans and the miles will pretty much kill it for you as far as getting a good price which is unfortunate but it's reality.

I'm listing the new tranny as a selling point?!? I guess I'll put it back to stock. And hope for the best. Thanks for all the great advice. It's much appreciated. One thing is for sure is the RWD must be hurting me.

I think your real problem is the economy. People who are not concerned with the state of the economy are buying new 997's. Anybody who wants to pay $50K for a car with 54K miles is most likely subject to the poor economy and very hesitant to make that purchase at this time. Also the RWD is a big problem unless you can sell it to a board member. I say keep it or you will probably have to take a beating.

+1. Gray int. is SO SOFT right now. It will not sell unless you give it away. There are just two many cars available with lower miles and not a lot more $$

You might try calling a couple of dealers up and see what they will give you for the car as a straight purchase. I would not mention the mods in your description to them. That will at least give you an idea of worst case scenario.

I would wager the RWD conversion is the biggest turnoff.

The market is garbage right now. I'm looking at taking a 40% hit owning it for less than 2yrs. Part it out and sell to a dealer - that's what I'm going to do...

Yep, I just looked at a sweet 03 w/ 28K miles. Price $55-60K (ballpark negotiation). Car was utterly pristine.
