Just went through the dead battery ordeal myself, I'm sure the Optima may be a better battery...............if you're doing any sort of racing, but come on.......for street use? the battery $195.00 plus the custom bracket..another $200.00. Make your life easy, go to Autozone get the Duralast 48-DL, costs $79.99, goes in in 5 minutes and works great. Unless you're Hurley Haywood or you just wanna brag to your buddies about your "pretty" battery, save your money to buy gas.

I have issues with my battery also.. I think its my battery... when I am driving ..always have a/c on if i slow down for a speed bump i notice my volt gauge dips down to almost 12 volts.. but when i give the car a little gas the volts move up.. think its a weak battery?

I used my fuse box to pop my trunk. A battery charger didn't work but using my new battery did the trick. My ground, the one Porsche recommends, worked for me. Now I have to wait until my Optima euro adapters arrive.

I put a new battery in my car.. at first start up volt gauge showed almost 14 volts.. after driving a bit with a/c on.. when I come to a stop the gauge dips to almost 12.. 12.5 range... is it normal for the gauge to dip like that? I also had a new alternator installed about 6 months ago..

I would say not normal (at least mine does not do this). I know Scott had this problem and he traced it to a bad ground in the electrical system.

I believe he's talking about the driver's side door latch as the bad ground. It's what the Porsche owner's manual recommends useing for a ground for opening up the trunk.

Scott (Divexxtreme) here is a LINK...no we are not talking about a ground for the jump....we are talking about a loose ground in the system which gave Scott fits (similar symptoms to boca)
