Official Calendar Photo Request
Alright, let's get this thing off the ground. I am officially requesting one digital photo from anyone interested. In order to make the playing field equal and maintain a consistent "look" to the calendar, I have developed some criteria for the submissions. The parameters are as follows:
The deadline for submission of photos is October 1, 2003. Interested parties should PM me and I will give them directions for transmitting files.
Once I have received all of the submissions, I will post the entries with a poll and we will decide, by vote, which 12 photos are included. Yes, I know, there will be victories and upsets but we are all big boys. There will be other years! THe world does not end in 2004. Remember, the photos will be judged based on their photographic excellence and not just what car is in the photo. In other words, as an example, a photo of a full blown TechArt Turbo in someone's driveway will not necessarily win over a C4 overlooking a canyon. Effort and expertise will prevail!! It doesn't take much to back your car out of the garage and grab the digital camera to take a shot. It takes a lot more effort to get up at dawn and have the morning fog over a dead calm lake as a backdrop. Use your imagination guys!!
Due to the time constraint, this first year may be my amateur attempt to create this calendar. I have a good deal of photographic experience and will have the ability to print full bleed 11x17 size glossy photos, so we will see how that all pans out. Future years may be professionally done. Right now let's get the content submitted.
Good luck all!
- Photo must be of a minimum 2560X1920 pixel resolution (i.e.: 5.0 megapixel) or greater resolution. This is needed due to the size of the image and the apparent clarity when printed.
- In order to keep the genre consistent, photos should not be electronically altered in any photo program other than basic brightness or color balance. This means no sepia, negative, solar or other effects. It also means no multi-image alterations or enhancements to the content of the photo. The quality of the content and image should be a result of the photographer taking the shot and not manipulation afterwards.
- The cars must be either a 996TT or 996 C4. Sorry, but it is the genre that we are after. The other forums can create their own calendars. Just trying to keep this manageable.
- One car per photo.
- One entry per individual. Choose your best!
- Photos should be preferably a 3/4 view front or 3/4 view rear. Side views are acceptable as well but not desirable. Do not submit front views or rear views.
- Picture settings can be anything chosen by the photographer as long as it is not digitally enhanced.
- Only .jpg files will be accepted.
- Include your name and contact info with your submission.
- Provide a brief write-up of the car's specs including owner's name, year, make, model, modifications, horsepower and torque
