clutch problem?

On initial start up each day the clutch is very heavy when i push it to the floor. After that it is fine. All subsequent start-ups throughout the day are fine and the clutch does not slip. The clutch is stock and my car has 30k miles. Any thoughts.
thanks.

Do both at one time...and if you need a new clutch anyway, same labor.

+1 on the search. NOT a simple at home job.....lift is a very valuable thing, etc.

Diddo on the accumulator, had one go out in May, @ 38K.
Had to pull the trans at the same time (shifting problem) and found the clutch to still be in good condition. Went to Sachs Motorsport PP & disk any way. My guess is since you are stock and if you are not doing hard launches, you don't need a clutch yet. Besides it's a bit of a job with a trick or two, best left for an experienced mechanic with a lift.

thanks for the replies. For those of you that had to replace your clutch accumulator, how long did it take from the first time you noticed it was a problem until it had to be replaced? Right now mine is not bad- just a little heavy when i first start up.

I just had exact same problem.
It is the accumulator (shaped like a ball, also get a small washer and some
pentosin as the power steering fluid feeds it). Parts were about $185.

Good luck,

MK

Mine is in shop right now for crappy pedal feel. I still have a few months left on the warranty so...The dealer will cover the slave, NOT the accumulator ($200?), plus a $140 "diagnosis" fee.
