Maf sensor problems
Does anyone know why i keep going through maf sensors ... Im on my fourth in a yr. It happens normally in second gear .. and acts like fuel cut. Then followed by the abs light , check engine light. I have the upgraded evom air filter. Someone had suggested i was running too much boost.
Another person said there is a hitachi sensor that is better. Any help would be appreciated. The last sensor lasted two weeks .. at 200 a pop its getting old fast.
Breakdown on the car .. running 1.2 bar , have headers , exhaust with 100 cats, flash, evom diverter valves and air filter box.

OK I'll be the first...lose the V-flow box. I know, I know, there are plenty of folks with no issues, but there are plenty with them. Once mine was removed no more blown mafs period. Oh and welcome to the 6.

Well i tried taking the maf out and doing the steam trick to clean it ... this was discussed in another thread about the same topic. The end result was PSM code , ABS code , check engine light and a car that runs like crap ..
Does anyone have the part number for the hitachi sensor and where i can pick one up.
thanks

You can pick up the hitachi sensor from Sharkwerks but your car needs to have the correct flash for it.

What is the steam trick? You would never want to expose these things directly to water in any form...would you steam clean a circuit board?...should use CRC cleaner or circuit board cleaner.

Yes I would and I do, including laptop amd desktop computer boards. Clean ,distilled water does nothing to hurt a cicuit board. It is the introduction of current to a wet board that does the damage.
