Let's do a Skyline Drive run? Someone propose some dates. Anyone of you guys going to the VIR event on 9 September? I'm going if we want to get a group together that would be great.

What is the VIR event? I'd love to talk to all the local guys about where they're getting their work done. My local p-shop service guy left, so my hookup at the dealer is gone. I need to find a new shop to do some mods.

Skyline runs sounds sweet. How about 2 weeks from now? Weekend of the 21st? Thoughts....

Thumbs up

I've got a small group of friends in the area who are also interested in a run to skyline. I'm thinking that a run this autumn before or after the leaf crowds would be great.

Maybe a Sunday or Friday run? In a way Friday (or a week day) would be best as the crowds would be smaller and the police less likely to be on the prowl.

I missed out on registration for the VIR event (argh). I'm considering purchasing a membership there. Anyone else a member?

Dorkiphus is a great site. Many thanks! I just registered.

I'm out of the country starting the weekend of the 21st through the 29th.

I'm a newbie Porsche owner and also am looking for recommendations. My Porsche's warranty expires this month so I'm purchasing an extended warranty through JMNA (?). I'm going to call Intersport this afternoon to see if they can reset an airbag light on my dash. When there I'll ask about servicing with third party warranties. I took my car to HBL once (where it has been serviced all it's life) and they seemed to be honest and provided great service.

My car is still under warranty and I have the warranty work and yearly check done at Porsche of Arlington (formerly Heisman) and have been very happy with the service. For other work like oil changes and brake fluid changes I have been using RPM in Newington (703-550-8240 ask for Bill or Stan) and have been very satisfied. These guys also maintained my 2000 C4. They are racers and know what works on Porsche.

As for Skyline I'm up for a Friday (August 27th?) or Sunday. Whatever we can decide as a group I'm ready for.

Yah, I go to Porsche of Arlington too...they hooked up my fabspeed exhaust and a few other things. My service guy there, that got me all the deals moved to Cali. They're good for standard installs/service, but not really for modding stuff. I'll have to check out RPM.

Maxwell,

Are you happy with your Fabspeed exhaust. I absolutly HATE mine! The resonance is a killer! It is the Moderate and it is for sale.

hahah....I LOVE mine! I have the loud, and wish it was even louder. I hated the stock sound. It had no personality at all. I used to have a 360 with a tubi, so the stock pcar exhaust just didn't cut it.

If you want just a little more sound than stock, you should check out the Ruf system.

I really only drive my TT for fun, so I guess it might be different if I were commuting to work in it or something.
