2009 Supra Concept at The Ring
I own a prius and personally i don't care what it does for the environment, nor do i care if it's clean - it gets 50mpg without a problem, and i don't have to worry when it's parked somewhere, and personally that's all i do care about
So don't generalize us hybrid drivers (there are many other prius owners on this forum along with other hybrid drivers) saying, we are a joke...

yup, too bad it's cancelled
ok, the one in the video is the supra. Is the lexus the ugly white one in the picture of the other link?
the black one is this one: LEXUS LF-A concept

The roadster is in its test phase as well:

and it looks like the interior is similar to the concept as well:

Now that's what I'm talking about. That's the one I like. What's up with the other one, is that the toyota version? Also, I thought the value of the car was going to be 100k-120k, not 150k
I'm not sorry and that, truly is all that matters, your opinion is worthless and don't ever make assumptions about what i did with my money
LF-A? You be the judge: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/28/r...f-a-stillborn/
Article follows:
The writing has been on the wall for some time. Although the Lexus flagship graduated from "concept" to "prototype" when it campaigned in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, Toyota has refused to even hint at a production date for the V10 supercar. Then Toyota declined to plonk an LF-A silhouette on their Super GT racer, electing to continue with the doomed SC 430 jello mold.
Then news broke that production cars would cost a whopping $225,000, but the LF-A still wouldn't turn a profit. Needless to say, Toyota doesn't like things that are not profitable.
Finally, members of the testing and development crew who have been putting the car though its paces in Germany, as well as test drivers from rival Honda and Nissan crews, have told Autoblog that the LF-A is not destined for the showroom, and will remain only a development platform.
No reasons were given, but we can think of a couple. How many people are willing to part with nigh on a quarter of a million bucks for a Toyota/Lexus? Also, the world's most prolific car maker may not be willing to join the current Nurburgring pissing contest unless it is 100% sure that they can beat the Viper, ZR-1 and perhaps more importantly, the GT-R and upcoming NSX replacement.
Actually, one 'Ring test driver didn't mind going on the record with his opinion. Former Nissan racer, NSX development driver and Nurburgring legend Motoharu "Gan-san" Kurosawa reckons, "Toyota are good at making money, but they're no good at making sports cars."
Inside Line says "Lexus is gunning for the Italians." With that kind of price, we actually believe Lexus is sidestepping the Italians and has simply declared, "Your comparisons are futile, this is the best. If you want it, this is the price."
Yeah thanks for the pics I didnt even think there were pictures of the inside of the car yet and nice comparing them with the concept pictures.
BMW really F'ed up when they stopped doing basic body mods to the M cars. The M version of the Z3 and M3 came with wider fenders, etc...
now they look like every other Z4 or 3 series. The sales numbers reflect the weak look of the cars. In the end, the entire package has to be more exciting if you want to sell in larger volumes. What a shame.

While I agree that this thread is out of place in the 996 forum, I was reluctant to create another thread in the Concept section due to the fact I'm beginning to feel like the "Spectre of Doom" around here...
Oh, and the reason for this post is to confirm my earlier post.
Todays casualty: the BMW M3 CSL. RIP.

Article follows:

BMW has shelved plans to produce a lighter and sharper CSL version of the E92 M3. CAR’s artist’s impression reveals how the rawest M3 of all was scheduled to look – with an arrival date of summer 2009.
The M3 CSL was supposed to have power uprated to between 450bhp and 470bhp with a corresponding drop in weight, down by 100kg thanks to wider use of flyweight materials. Cup tyres, new engine breathing and a carbonfibre airbox were due to complete the makeover.
But the bean counters at Munich have now canned the project, so they can concentrate on the faster versions of the company’s X-badged crossovers.
The M boss speaks
Ludwig Willisch, the new M Division boss, said: ‘Based on current numbers, there is most likely insufficient demand for the M3 CSL.’
For the full story on the death of the M3 CSL – and its nemesis from Audi, the planned RS5 – buy the new October 2008 issue of CAR Magazine, on sale on Wednesday 27 August 2008. Click here for a full guided tour.
