A good exhaust is the first power mod for any Porscht Turbo, whether it'd be X-50, regular, chipped, etc.

I was wondering the same thing, I have an x-50 with an upsolute chip, bailey dv's, k&n airfilter and b&m shortshifter. I'm trying to figure out what mod to do next, naturally I want more power but I don't want to spend 4 grand for an exhaust, is there any semi cheap exhaust that is pretty quiet but has a nice exotic tone? Thanks

I had Lucent install the TechArt Sport Exhaust a couple of weeks ago on my X50 Cab and the big difference, besides the "sound" is the cats. Went from the stock 400 cell cats to the "sport" 200 cell cats.

I have no way of knowing if the HP has increased but the power curve feels much smoother. There are no more spikes in power around 3400rpm.

The real power increase on the TT is when you swap out the ECU "and" you have the high flow exhaust.

Turbos hate back pressure and the stock exhaust sure is restrictive so find an exhaust you like the sound of and go ahead and do it with a chip upgrade

Definately adds power. I have Fabspeed SuperSport (loud). Great exhaust system. Well made and it DOES add power, especially with GIAC software etc.

I think this is the biggest advantage of an aftermarket exhaust in an X-50. The X-50 is a little laggy with the stock exhaust. I'm not sure my seat of the pants dyno could tell an extra 20-40 HP in a 450 HP car, but it sure can tell the decrease in lag with the addition of the fabspeed.

My Fabspeed moderate (really loud and lots of resonance) made the car run worse. Less power and less enjoyment!

Wow, you're the first I've heard stating less power from the exhaust change.
Disregarding the noise, resonance, and less enjoyment, can you specify where the loss of power was? Low, mid, or high rpms?

Absolutely no offense intended, but something was either wrong with your car, the installation, or that exhaust if your car lost power. Fabspeed does ring a bit in the cockpit, but it doesn't rob horsepower. It has been proven over and over again. The stock exhaust is a huge restriction. I've no affiliation with Fabspeed or any exhaust manufacturer.
