my race clutch feels mushy.can this be changed?

i just installed a Sachs race engineering clutch, and lightwieght flywheel. My problem is the clutch pedal didnt really change. Is there a way to get it nice and stiff. I prefer a hard clutch pedal. Can you possibly change the "clutch assist"?
Im just so used to driving a hard clutch. I am happy with the flywheel and the "Grabbing" factor of the clutch. I just need some pressure on the pedal.
thanks,
josh.

So you're just looking for more pedal FEEL? Ouside of replacing the stock brake system with Tilton dual master cyl set up i can't think of any other way to change the pedal feel and that would render your stock system useless as far as electronic control. Maybe it is possible with enough research to find a master cyl w/ same outter dimensions but different piston size. Why do you want more feel if what you have is totally functional? In driving events or racing the heavier pedal resistance just wears on you after an hour and a half in the seat- same when stuck in stop and go.

How does replacing the BRAKE system fix his CLUTCH feel?

well, ive been using a stage 3 or 4 race clutch in the M5. It is real hard. I love it and am totally used to it. Even in chicago traffic. It is really hard for me to use a soft pedal. Just trying to find out what my options are. I seem to slip the porsche clutch more due to the long travel of the pedal. The clutch in the M5 im using is a Sachs Race Engineer clutch, just like the on i put in the Turbo. The feel is just not there. thanks anyway,

josh.

The GT2 clutch has more feel (stiffer) than the TT clutch. Anybody know what makes the difference between the GT2 and TT? Is it just the clutch or is there more?

The clutch system is hydraulic and power assisted from the power steering pump. So it is hard to make the pedal stiffer as the system is like your brakes, they are power assist. Little more complicated then just swapping something out.

S Car Go removed the hydraulic power assist unit when they installed the Tilton clutch. The Tilton set up has very good clutch feel.

Any idea on it being feesable with my clutch set up? what does the Tilton set up consist of? I guess the hardest part to deal with would be the travel of the clutch before it engages. Brand new clutch, and doesnt engage until half way up. Wierd.

You're at half way?....how did you get that, I'm at 2/3s

I like the Sachs set-up.......but no, has nothing to do with travel and feel (it just bites a tad).
The amount of hydraulic assist (and travel) Pcar dialed into the Turbo was over the top.
