SpeedTech exhaust on a Tiptronic?

Is anyone here running a SpeedTech exhaust on a 996tt Tiptronic? I'm looking for opinions on how much drone or resonance there is with the Tip transmission. Thanks.

I have it but my car is not only manual but also a cab. So obviously
I don't get any drone with the top down and not really much more with the top up. I can tell you that I always get compliments on it even 1 today. I also saw hp gains with it.

I run Fabspeed Quiet with Cab and Tip; seems to be a good combination. I sometime think it is not loud enough.

speedtech is loud. I had a full fabspeed exhaust on my 997 and my speedtech turbo is much louder.

Alpha,

I would recommend our 60mm quiet version for a Tiptronic. It's also less expensive because you re-use the stock tips.

Speedtech is louder than Fabspeed?
Are you just talking about full-throttle or is it louder at cruising?

The SpeedTech is a 70mm system and provides high HP gains. The Fab is a 60mm. We have a 60mm system that is quieter, as I mentioned above. The user must decide if he wants maximum power potential or a quieter ride. That's how all the aftermarket exhaust are...it's all about trade-offs of sound vs. power vs. weight vs. price, etc.

I have a speedtech 60mm on a Tip.
I like it, but wouldn't go with anything noisier(drone) on a Tip.

Rafiki -- What part of the RPM range are you getting the drone? The typical 2k to 3k range?

Is there any drone with the 60mm speedtech? I am back on my original exhaust because drone is the one thing I absolutely cannot stand.

I only have the stock to compare it to, so it is a little more noisy in the 2k-3k range but not unpleasant and (??) it's not always there.

Unsure of all the variables(temp, fuel, etc)but somedays there is no drone whatsoever. It seemed to settle down a lot after a few 000 km.(not sure if it becasue I just got used to it).Maybe JohnD can clarify whether this makes any sense?

It still has a luxury sound from inside the cabin as a opposed to a hoon's car.Porsche dealer tells me it sounds more like a GT3 when I pull up.

I always have the windows down and radio off when driving hard!

Great, thanks for sharing. I find the standard exhaust too quiet at full throttle but spend a lot of my time using the car for daily chores now compared to when it had the fabspeed loud. And thats because for city chores I love the lack of drone and ability to listen to the stereo at partial throttle. But when I am out for a purposeful drive its just too quiet.
