Top Speed for a 700+HP TT? aka What do to while waiting for your car.....

Hi all; my car is currently at Stephen's (Imagine Auto) for IAGTR mods, as well as PSS9's and Techart II front / Techart Sideskirts/ GT2 Tail. The car should have 600+HP at the wheels / 700+ at the crank.

http://www.imagineauto.com/gtr.html

It'll probably be another couple of weeks until completion, and the wait is both exciting and maddening. I can hardly wait to put my foot into it.

Anyhow, I've been wondering what kind of top end speed others on the board have achieved with similar mods?

Sincerely,
Paul

With 700 hp and stock rods I guess you like to play Russian Roulett with your motor. Especially if like you said, "I can hardly wait to put my foot into it." I guarantee it is just a matter of time.

Back to your top end, it won't change unless you raise your redline. Of course you will arrive at top speed faster than a stock powered 996tt.

In that case, I'll just have to raise my car and put on some Cayenne 275-40-20's for some extra tire circumference. I figure I can get to 223mph with that setup, provided I don't take off in flight from the aerodynamics!

6750 rpm x 60minutes/hour x 1/.75 6th gear x 1/3.44 final drive x 90.042" circumference/rev x 1ft/12" x 1mile/5280ft = 223mph.

Well, I gotta do something with the time off from my TT!
Sincerely,
Paul

I like Xico's logic better. Getting there quick is whats important.

Correction... it got there fast.

Dude, we have to get you setup with some new bragging rights. It breaks my heart to see you living in the past this way!

You are forgetting about the laws of physics and wind drag. Hell just your side rear view mirrors will cause you trouble.

In addition, don't believe your speedo. I guarantee you it is way off to the high side. Get yourself a GPS and see what you are really doing. Be prepared to be really disappointed.

Don't feel too bad. I love the GT2 more in every way except for the color (love lapis) and the sheer straight line speed.

Besides, who says my GT2 isn't getting a "setup." It's just not for public disclosure quite yet.

Don't keep us in the dark too long! Mabey give us a little appetiser now and then! Besides, we are not the "public". We are your brothers.

Actually, not all of it is my choice. Some of my "suppliers" have asked me not to layout my plans...

Don't worry... it will be another surprise from the minds at Lucent, Wilber, myself and others...

Ahh, but here in Colorado, the air is thin, so we don't have air drag; nor can we think straight!

Oh dear, this is getting ridiculous.

Sincerely,
Paul
