M3 owners........P Envy?
M3 owners........P Envy?
It seems like I can not leave the house without someone in an M3 revving their engine or challenging to race. This happened twice in two days, Once on PCH and another on the 101 freeway. I am not going to act like an *** and actually race on city streets thereby creating a dangerous situation for other motorists, but it is tempting to downshift and see them fade in my rear view mirror very quickly.
Anyone else have this problem? It seems that the vast majority of offenders are M3 owners.
P Envy is short for Porsche Envy, not the other kind of P Envy.

lst night I was driving home from SF and this mustang got right behind me and turned on his emergency blinkers
(I was in the slowest lane too!!) and next thing I know hes flying pass me. wtf???

I get it allot, even beaters will drive aggressively wiz by me, hoping I will chase them down/race them, kill that noise! I'm not wasting my time or risking a ticket to beat any car that is worth under 100K, now if a Lambo or Ferrari pulls up and conditions are safe..........well we all know what will happen.
There is a reason insurance is the same to more on an M3 than a 996TT despite the later having 50% less power and costing about 40% more than the former. Juvenille punks seem to be the classic demographic for those cars and the claims history apparently bears this out.
I got my first E36 M when I was 16 (5 years ago). I thought it was the pinnicle of sports cars but now I am looking at these P cars wondering what I am missing out on (apparently, alot
). Still, my M3 lights up my satisfaction everytime I lay eyes on it. I can't get over the lines on the car. After I get my P-car there is no way I will ditch the BMW brand. No where else can you enjoy a lux-sports-sedan like a BMW everyday.
Edit: And yea man, I'd def. hit the revs at a light if I saw a P-turbo. No shame in that right? I doubt I could hear you rev back, though.

Yes, its true, we all want Porsches
I'll probably sell the A6 and M3 and try and get into an 00 C2, unless i can find a steal on an E39 M5.
BTW, i don't try and race people on the street. Although i will give ya a wave or thumbs up

Yes, BMW owners do have P-envy.
I used to be one of them.
Now I look at my E39 M5 and wonder why I own it. After you drive a Porsche, it feels like such a pig in the twisties.
E46 M3 is a nice 2+2, but it's the kind of car you get because you can't quite afford a 911 Turbo.
