Red Light Camera Ticket

I let a friend drive my TT for a day and he ran a red light. I received the ticket in the mail under my name since the car is registerd to me. Have any of you guys been in this position, am I responsible, I heard from a friend if your not the driver your not responsible and they will dismiss the ticket. Any info will be greately appreciated.
Thanks
BP

Or tell them that you can't find the driver because he moved back to (insert foreign country of choice)

I don't know how it works in CA but in VA all you have to do is certify via a notary public that it was not you and the problem goes away.

You are responsible to pay the fine since the car is registerd to you, in NY it is a no point violation.

I believe in Calif. there is a pic of both the license plate number and the driver.

from personal experience - in CA, the ticket should have a picture of the license plate and driver. If you're not driving, you let them know who was driving your car or you're on the hook

For future preventive measures, take your plates off and slap the temporary registration back on the front windshield. If you get pulled over and they ask why you don't have the plates yet just tell 'em that you're still waiting for your customized plates in the mail.

Or pay $30.00 and get yourself a can of Photoblocker (www.phantomplate.com) and this situation won't happen again in the future. Sh*t works good!

Good luck!
