Looks like I need Clutch Viagra

Seriously, everything was working fine one evening the then the next morning the pedal went to the floor with almost no effort. Getting the car in gear and shifting was difficult and the pedal wouldn't return to the outmost position unless I used the toe of my shoe to raise it up.

It seems like I had the actuator(sp?) replaced semi-recently.

Thoughts?

A bad/leaking master cylinder will cause this...but I think a bad slave or accumulator will, too...

I had same symptoms. It was the slave cylinder. Under CPO, Dealer did accumulator too while they were there.

DIY for slave/accumulator

There's a DIY for the slave and accumulator over on RennTech under the 996TT caption.

Search under slave cylinder and user Mikelly.

It seems the first one is a royal PITA and then one gets good at it. Mike feels he could do a slave in 2 hours now (per a post this weekend...). I believe him. He is a very good DIY wrench mind you and has an awesome garage.

Thanks for all the responses.

What would a typical dealer cost be to replace these? I want want to know how much I'll be saving before I bite off on this. Thanks.

I was quoted 1,400.00 They were willing to work with me but, since I knew Mikelly has done this I felt I would be able to do it too, with his help.

We did the job in 3 hrs. I believe that a lift makes the job a lot easier and that having someone who has done this is a big bonus.

If you are going to tackle this job I would suggest to ask someone who has done it for some TIPS. After doing this I feel confident in doing it by myself.
