Hey guys, need some help please...

I'm looking at a 2002 996 Ruf RTurbo conversion with 31K miles. It is a Tip (I know but the wife needs to be able to drive it too). That being said though, its the fastest and most responsive Tip I've ever driven including the new '08 997 Turbo Cab I just bought. Their hybrid turbos and tuning really kill the lag issue. The car is also equiped with the Ruf full suspension, new front and rear Ruf Euro bumpers, Ruf Wheels, spoiler, pedal set, and sills. This adds up to 50K+ in Ruf mods. The Conversion was done by Joe from Ruf Germany. He came over and did it several years ago before Ruf Dallas opened. Its an Artic/Blk carbon car. It has built in K40 front and rear. The car runs well.

In this economy there are lots of great deals. I don't think its worth a dime over 65K if that though... What are your thoughts?

I also have my eye on several low mile X50's too.

Thanks,
Ted.

996TTSCAB is infamous around these parts
I really like it, this Tip looks really good. You should be able to get it around $70K. When it comes to buying a car you love, you shouldn't let couple of thousand dollar difference stand in the way.

ruf

I think they have it priced well. Ruf cars are not like the average tuned cars, they hold the value better.

Thanks for the reply. It really isn't a true Ruf car, it is an '02 996 550 HP Conversion. If it had a Ruf vin it would be a steal However the guy did put 52k in true Ruf mods which is definitely a consideration at this price. Plus, it is indeed much more than a X50 Stage IV from an overall handling, torque, engineering, and reliabilty point of view. For a Tip it is fast, lots of torque in the midrange, hardly any lag. The fact is has 31K miles doesn't bother since its a Tip, no stage two over revs to worry about. Also its been a Converted Ruf for most of its life... I'm doing a third party PPI on it as we speak. We'll see what happens...

Thanks,
Ted.
