i'm thinking of going to a straight pipe and was wondering if i can get some feedback from guys that have owned one or currently run one... how's it sound? any audio clips? performance improvement? Any info would be helpful, thanks!

 

Drone will be your best friend.

 

I will only run my TT with strait pipes ( no cats), They are VERY, VERY loud.Cold start up is so obnoxious and can be embarrassing, but with that being said its sounds great and makes great power and saves weight.You either love them or hate them.If you plan on not running cats make sure your tuner programs out the O2's.Be fore warned they are very very very very loud.See the vid.

Cool video, But i don't think it really shows how loud and obnoxious it really is. It actually LOUDER than that LOL

 

As said before......its LOUD. I would be hesitant to run straight pipes if it's your DD....you'll go deaf. I only drive my TT once/twice a week, so it doesn't bother me that much. Give your neighbors fair warning before you start it up, because it will shake everything off the walls.

 

It is VERY loud. I had cats with no muffler, and I had to take it off and put the factory back on because the drone would rattle the windshield.

 

It's so loud on cold startup that I have some motorcycle SuperTrapp baffles I stuff into the pipes while loading and unloading from the trailer. Otherwise, I suspect I would get a letter from the HOA. They're that loud. Pretty obnoxious to drive on the street so I don't do that anymore unless I'm bedding in pads or rotors. Weight savings is great, though. They weigh 4lb. 2oz. per side.

 

They are LOUDER than hell. Just like everyone said, the cold startup sounds horrible. My neighbors want to kill me at 8am when I start her up to head to work or class. I am going to put my Fabspeed back on after I go to the track this weekend.

I will admit though at WOT it sounds f***ing KILLER!!!

 

I can't seem to take mine off. It's like a bad addiction I can't stop. They sound great at WOT and are total white trash at start up.

thanks guys... i think i have to pass because my neighbors on 1 side are like 60 and in general, my neighborhood would kill me!!! damn, but i wanna do it... how much do they go for?? It's basically piping straight through? No cats, no mufflers... haha, insane.

I love it. BUt I have the 200 cell fabspeed cats and straight pipes which I am sure drops the Db's down a bit. But it sounds awesome. There is a bit of drone, but not enough that I care. Cold startup is loud, but sounds bad azz, with the crackle of a good tune.

 

I just told Steven at IA yesterday, that they are love/hate relationship. Great at wot--particularly at the track where you can hear the motor which helps with your shifts. In town, they are too loud 90 percent of the time. I am looking for a new option over the winter.

 

Loud is an understatement.. I lost great throttle response and down low torque, after 2 days, I dreaded getting into the car, obnoxious is an UNDERSTATEMENT as it's worse.. People asked wtf was wrong with my car, they don't even sound good!

 

not that loud this guys are just not used to it!! my neighbors have NEVER complained. I have pumped gas beside state trooper cars and no cop has ever said anything.
if you drive it correctly it is not bad. now WOT is bad......badass!!

best performance upgrade u can do. takes ton of weight of heavy ***.

rethink your decision.
