Common ABS/PSM warning

I just got this warning on my car. We checked it with the Durametic and it says faulty brake sensor on the pedal. Is this common? I was reading another thread and it states to replace the entire wire harness. TIA

I agree. I posted in the other thread about replacing the harness, but that was ONLY after it was confirmed that the wiring harness had failed. This is a wiring harness at the wheel, also.

I am getting the ABS/PSM warning also. It goes on as soon as I turn on my click on the first click. I've already changed the brake light switch, but that was not it. I've checked all the bulbs and all light up fine. One thing I noticed is that without the lights on, the brake lights comes on as normal. But as soon as I turn on the lights, the 3rd brake light is on without pressing the brake. When I press the brake down, the brake lights is just a tad brighter.
Do you guys think I have a short somewhere?

I just checked with my Durametric software and got the following faulty code.
4340 stop light switch
P0571 Porsche fault code 364-Brake pedal position sensor

I already changed my stop light switch. Is there more than 1?
Does anyone know where the brake pedal position sensor is and how hard is it to change out?

When I got my errors showing recently this seemed to be one of those most common fixes (the brake light switch under the brake pedal), and the wiring harness, and the MAF. Most people fall in one of those 3 categories it seems based on my research.

Do all 3 of your brake lights come on when you step on the brake pedal?

All 3 brake lights come on when i press the brake pedal when the parking/drivings lights are off. As soon as i turn on the parking/driving lights, the ABS/PSM lights come on, also the 3 brake lights comes on without pressing the brake pedal.
I already changed the brake light switch.
Which wiring harness are you referring to?

Well I just had the wiring harness replaced that goes from my ABS control unit to the right front speed sensor (which is the specific code I was throwing). It seems many people have successfully replaced a wiring harness (not sure if there are multiple harnesses??) and the ABS/PSM errors went away.

I am getting these error codes

abs|pasm module code 4340 stop light switch

and

dme code 364 brake pedal position sensor

I just replaced the brake pedal switch, and my tech is saying the durametric won't allow him to clear the code.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did you guys do to fix it?

My ABS/PSM was coming on when I got up to about 60. Started out just once or twice but then was automatic at 60. I took it in to the dealership (CPO) and they found a loose hose. They tightened it up and now all good. I am not sure exactly which hose it was, have been in Iraq, but could probably try and find out. Hope that helps.
