Turbo upgrade suggestions?

Hi, guys,

Well, track season is over, so it's time to think about some upgrades. I am considering upgrading the turbos. I do 4-5 DE's per year. I've worked on getting the suspension in good shape, and now I am thinking about a turbo upgrade.

The engine is stock except for K&N air filter, Milltek exhaust, Agency Power diverter valves and an Upsolute flash (came with the car when I bought it). I do not drag race or even drive the car hard on the street. Not interested in so much hp that I'll start blowing up clutches and MAFs.

So what are my options, and what are the +/- of each?

It seems that one option is K24 turbos, GIAC flash and upgraded intercoolers.

A second option would be one of the UMW hybrid turbo setups. That would need a new flash and probably intercoolers as well. Anything else?

Other options?

Thanks!

Jon

The Proto 24/18G seems best bang at the moment.

the 24/18 might be too much lag for the track. I suggest the hybrid GT 28's (K 16 hotside). Lots of power instant response.

I thought he said he didn't want to blow his clutch? From what I have read if you
go past intake, exhaust and flash you will need a new one and maybe so with just
the flash.

Guys,

Thanks a lot for responding. Is there someplace where I can find a detailed explanation of the difference between the various turbos?

Thanks!

Jon

Specifically relating to K16/16g hybrid which everyone seems to be suggesting:
