Seriously? The SLR barrister probably needs psychotherapy after that run...

I think it will take about 550 whp to stay with an SLR and more if you wanna beat it. The car is very heavy, but it is also very aerodynamic. there is another guy who's video I watched and he owned both an SLR and a 650 bhp 996tt. The SLR consistently beat the 996tt by a car length. Another 30-50 hp the 996tt would have been slightly ahead probably.

Sounds like I should get K24/18g with fuel then!

unfortunately, you have the smallest k16 hybrids out there, so I would guess that fueling would not help them too much, but you could probably squeeze a bit more out of them. your tuner would know.

for example, with fueling I can take my K16 hybrids to 600+ whp on pump gas easy. But I need fuel rails, injectors, maf.

So that's what, 750 crank on a K16 based hybrid? Is this theory or has someone actually done this? What dyno, what mods, what conditions?

The small K16 hot housing, the same thing that provides that great spool up, chokes up top. It just can't flow enough air to support that kind of hp. I'd be glad to be proven wrong though.

There's no free lunch, you either get great early spool and less up top, or a more lag and more on top.

The turbos I have are based off of K16 hot side and the new GT2 compressor. Reworked by UMW. The highest stage on stock bottom end is stage 3a. if you need specifics call UMW. but to give you an idea I start boosting at 2400 rpm and my car sails through 7200 rpm like its not there so these k16's loose nothing on the top end. I am not at this level yet. it is a modular kit and I have the lowest level of this kit basically std stage2, but I can build it up to this level with fueling and other add ons

here is an SLR racing a 996tt with 575 whp. Not sure I believe the 575 whp thing, but anyway, the SLR beat this car by about a car length.

all I know is that it is the stage 3a. But I know it comes with fueling, maf, throttle bodies, basically the works. I am not there so I don't know what all it involves. I do know that it cranks out some healthy power on K16 based hybrids. Like I said call Kevin if you want to know more.

Haven't seen anything past 650hp yet to be honest.

Intake, exhaust and ECU takes it to (HKS claims) 550hp I think, and some Japanese tuner has started playing around with bigger turbos, but nothing crazy so far.
