I Finally Got Her!
I Finally Got Her!
Well, I have been searching for over 6 months. yes - I mean actively searching for a 996TT.
I was close to buying up to 5 of them - but 3 got sold before I could get to them and 2 didn't inspect out very well - so I moved along. Going through all of the inspections etc with the 2 - made me somewhat of a skeptic. I thought i would never find what I was looking for, but hard work, determination and God's blessing - brought me to the right place.
I found this Speed Yellow 2002 996TT with just 27k miles on it. It had just about everything that I wanted.
For starters:
I wanted Sport Seats and painted backs.
I wanted Speed Yellow Seat Belts.
And yes - I could find some like this - but then mileage and how clean the car was etc also played into this. So I was being really cautious and picky. Being that this is my first Porsche - I wanted it to be right. I was going to buy a 997 Carerra S - but then got turned on to the 996TT and thank God I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found this car and almost didn't buy it because of the wheels - I am not a big fan of them - due to the amount of yellow. I felt - I can always change them and would if the car inspected right and was as clean as said.
So - I had the car inspected by a Porsche dealer and was ready for a list of a few things that may come back to fix or watch out for. To my surprise this car came back clean! Nothing wrong - no issues. Actually there was one issue with an ABS light coming on - but the dealer fixed it right there during the inspection under warranty. The inspector told me that the worked hard on the car to come back with something - but was happy to tell me that this is one Clean car and definitely worth the buy!
The price was so perfect as well and I felt really good about it. I flew up to St. Louis - checked it out and fell in love!
So - I already have a new set of wheels and tire for it - should be here within the next week or so. Plan on Suspension at the same time and a host of other go fast goodies right away!!!! no waiting - this car is going to be built and looking good. Yes - I will post pics of the new wheels and upgrades as they happen.
Special thanks to Chris from USP Motorsports for all the help and support. When I got the car back to Florida I had him change the oil and check out the car and was SUPER happy to hear that this car was really clean.
He is going to be doing all of the performance work on the car - and excited to get moving on that here shortly.
Anyways - enough of me babeling any longer.
Yes the wheels are gone soon - (will sell or trade for something cool for the car...
PM if interested. yes tires will come with.
And yes the car needs to be lowered which I am already working on!
But here it is as it sits - and I love her!
Thank you to 6Speed and all of you here. I would not have done this without the amazing people on this forum and all of the great info.
Have a great day,

beautiful tt, the car is very clean looking and by the sound of your post, you have done your research. Congrats on the acquisition and happy modding. I know the feeling when i finally was able to buy my Pcar, such a great feeling, indescribable By the way, you could just get those wheels resprayed in black and they wouldnt be all that bad, they look kinda like a set of older champions.
