Headers on 996 TT worth it?
skandalis447,
We have 996TT headers - I'll take a better picture tomorrow if you're interested.

unless your pumping big power a potred and polished stock manifold will do just fine!save you money , unless you switchinf to external wastegates , otherwise just keep the stockers and just port them.. i mean look at divex 's setup he was running stock manis not even ported or anything...
You also want the correct I.D. for your power output. The wrong I.D. will cost you power.
Good thread! I just bottomed out my Evo headers and I'm trying to decide if I should replace them or just run some stockers...
I'll have to take a picture and post a new thread to get some opinions on whether or not they are truly damaged...

So I checked last night and I am, with PSS9s, sometimes bottoming out and the headers as they are the lowest point on the car engine underbody. I guess with non cast OEM headers, they would get trashed no ?????
Are OEM headers cast? I was under the impression that they were welded SS? Thus, the porting/cleaning up the welds... I wonder if they are actually any stronger?
Either way, I may try some out for now to see how the car feels/sounds before dropping the coin on another aftermarket set. I trashed mine bottoming out at high speeds (a few times). I'm running a pretty low suspension on PSS9's.
