Yesterday I isntalled headers that Dan sent me(Fabspeed)...they look great, they have a noticeably better spool up and mid range power but i have not dyno the car now to see exact differences...However the biggest advantage is THE SOUND!!!Just awesome...so i see no disadvantage installing headers...the car is k24/18g...

This is what modding is all about....how YOU feel....it has nothing to do with real measurable performance enhancement. Enjoy

You have a point...However i thing how i feel goes together with performance enhancement...e.g. when you flash your car,you feel better and of course you get power and torque...I remember when i got an exhaust from a friend here and tested it...Drone,noise,same spool up and maybe a power loss at high rpm.I felt sick...And then I installed Remus and the difference was obvious...so I felt happy...that is the way things go...You are not always happy with your results...Of course now I enjoy my car with headers

Headers will give you significant and tangible performance benefits on 24/18 and larger turbos. K 16's, no.

If you are gonna be running oem turbos (k16 or k24) just keep the stock headers and port them out.

I had my 44.5mm header installed with other mods, so I don't know how the single improvement feels. I'm sure they are helping; if not, at least they look good.

I bought the GT2 EVOM headers, had them ported and polished, and truthfully for something under 600 hp...I don't think I did anything but throw some unnecessary money at a mod that could have been accomplished by simply porting and polishing the OEM headers.

The big thing is to make sure the header design is well engineered. Some aftermarket headers aren't designed well and will crack with the weight of the turbos/exhaust hanging off them. You really need to make sure you do your homework and find a set that has a proven track record!

Mine are OEM stockers and are hand ported and produce good power, along with the other mods!

Mike

The stock OEM headers are very, very good as is. I asked a lot of questions and in the end I ported mine. I wouldn't waste your money with them.

I've heard stock headers are great for up to 600 crank HP. After that they become a restriction.
