On the fence about getting some headers. I'm about to put an aftermarket exhaust on my 996 TT. Figured it might be the right time to do headers if they're worth it. All opinions welcome.

 

I have a set of ported stock headers on my car and the butt dyno says it spools faster. Not sure about power but it does spool faster. My .02

 

Hell yea it's worth it. Call Dan at Vivid for a great price. Mine are soooooo pretty.

 

I have heard from both sides. Most said ported headers do the same job and you can save big $$ for other mods; unless you are going into big HP.

 

How should I go about finding some one do to the porting? I'm assuming It's not rocket science.

 

Search the archives there is a real good write up on it somewhere.

 

If you have bigger turbos then yes, headers make a difference.

naaa. keep the stock they are great im putting 622 to the wheels with em.. if you do take the stock headers off get a die grinder and go at the welds or buy umvmy3 has a pair of ported swain coated ones for sale the are listed it the parts for sale forum... 2¢

I bet you can get closed to 640 if you have bigger headers.

 

You would also spool a lot faster, tim.

Ran a 6.17 60-130 in a vicious headwind (a 900 hp Supra could only run a 5.49).

 

I did a lot of research when I was figuring out what I wanted to do. I decided to have mine ported. Divextreeme was running his ported OEM headers when he was running over 800 at the wheels.
