Here are some fast list folks on DR personal bests.

Same PB on stock tires.

1----10.981 @ 128.90--1.77---jamie furman ------'06. -----Details
2----11.138 @ 127.20--1.76---Ranger------'06. -----Details

12---11.557 @ 126.68--1.95---Incon306-----'07 -------Details

Between 2 and 5 mph on the PB'swhich you can likely run a higher trap speed with slower ET's on both.So IMO that is still 126 or less mph trapping car on stock tires.
Agreed. But what it does show is that from a roll, the Z06's are more capable than thier Trap Speeds indicate....since they tend to spin the first 3 gears down the track (at least my car did/does). Whereas K16 Porsches hook far better on stock tires and don't tend to spin at all after getting into 2nd gear.

How do you measure the 60 to 130 run? I am thinking if I run a low 11 or high 10 at 130mph it probably runs 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds or so meaning the 60 to 130 would be around 7.5 seconds. Does that sound about right?

I've trapped ~126 MAX and my 60-130 best was 7.52 but got thrown out. I think you'd be more towards high 6's.

Good point. However the runcraps on the Z06's are far worse than any tire that you'll usually find on the Porsches and many people dont rape gearboxes wiht powershifting like Corvette guys do. Then there's how fast you go because the Z06 will go flat in 5 gear. But 60-130 I'd give to the Z06 9 times out of ten 10% being the K16 TTs wth lots of supporting mods (weight reduction, EBC, external wastegates etc).

No it does not sound right. If the car hits high 10's or low 11's then 60 to 130 will run anywhere from 6.5 to 6.8. 0 to 60 will be faster in AWD and a little slower with RWD. All numbers below on my signature were from P box from track and time slips. Hitting low e.t.'s are about good launches and good 60 foots.

Ya, I agree with that statement.

And yes, the runcraps really do suck.

Probably in the high 7 second range or so.

My best trap at the strip (on a hot/humid day) was 127. My 60-130 on that run was a measly 8.54 (I purposelly stayed in it past the traps on each run to obtain 60-130 times).

When I overlay my best 60-130 run (7.86 on a cool/dry day) over the 127 mph 1/4 mile graph, it indicates that I would have trapped in the 130 range had I been accelerating that same 7.86 pace on the dragstrip.

It always amazes me how people will say that intake, exhaust and tune is not worth doing. How can you say that making an engine work easier, get better mileage and more hp is not worth it? Even if intake/tune/exhaust only nets you 30 whp total it's worth it. In the ZO6's case your making a fast car even faster.

In stock form, the only place where the TT has an advantage is at high altitudes.

Well if I am going 0 to 130 mph in 10.9 or 11.0 which I have done many times at the track are you saying that I am running 3.1 second 0 to 60 with the runflats in a 2 wheel drive car?

Yep.

Not that hard to believe if you really think about it. Car and Driver ran a 3.4 0-60 on stock tires and ended up with a 11.8 @ 125 on that run....and also a 3.5 during a 11.7 @ 123 run. GM specs is 3.5 0-60 and 11.5 @ 127. You're beating all of those 1/4 mile E.T.s' by at least 6/10ths of a second. Makes sense that your 0-60 is 4/10's quicker as well. Info here: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/c6/2006/z06/2006z06perf.html

With your 1.77 60' time and 10.98 run, a 3.1 makes perfect sense.

Easiest thing to do is buy a P-box and get some 60-130s with it. I think you'll end up really liking the thing. http://store.vboxusa.com/servlet/Detail?no=2

A few of us local guys are pitching in and getting a Vbox for all of us to use. I'll let you know when we get it and you can use it. Maybe we can talk MIR into letting us do a 60-130mph testing day where we begin our runs pre-staging area for the slower cars (i.e. me)

There is a calculator that calculates yoru 0-60mph time based on your 60'. There is an even more accurate calculator that bases it off of the different breakdowns in the 1/4 mile. I can try to dig it up if you want.

Thumbs up

After reading this thread on the z06 I had to go down and actually test drive one. I had one back in the 90's and they did make big improvements. My first impression was WOW, But by the time I came back to the dealer it was a mediocre yeaa. It just seemed ordinary, thier just seem to be alot of them around. Its hard to distingush them from the regular c6's which I also test drove and came away feeling blaa. Maybe im prejudice but the quality just didn't seem to be there. Driving away in the p-car which is now 8yrs old I knew I made the right choice. I still feel giddy driving it. Ive never raced a tuned z06 but have no problem with the stock ones. Turbos are just awesome

I test drove a ZO6 as well about 7 months ago and liked it. It felt skittery in on uneven turns, but in a straight line it was fast. Of course, I test drove it when I was back in VA. It was a friend of a friends car. Anyway, definitely fast and good bang for the buck. Quality is not on par with the TT but then again neither is the price.
