k24 vs. k24-18g

Curious about the difference between an k24 vs k24/18g on an 01 996tt. Ive already modded the car with k24's, fabspeed header/ehaust system, evo intake, billet dv and a giac ecu. Havn't dynoed but I figure in the 550-580 power rangeas it is now. How much of an hp difference would it to an k24/18g. Would it be a notiful difference for the price? Would it be worth the confrotation with the wife for the upgrade

An oldy but goody here....

The K24/18G is modified using a stock K24 turbo to move much more volume of air in the mid to end power. This turbo is good up to 700hp with proper fueling. Ideally you will get the same spool of a k24 but with more power. As we have tested, a stock K24 turbo with similar mods to what you have does about 460-480HP on our Mustang Dyno. A K24/18G setup will get you to about 500-530HP. This is at the wheels. So you are talking about 600 crank.

Here is a dyno I found comparing the 2.

I have the hybrid set up Dan mentions and it is THE best bang for the buck mod you can do at this point.

My seat of the Pants Dyno, I did the 24/18's after driving my car with k24's on it i felt a considerable increase, Now i am not saying it would be a drastic increase or even a HUGE increase, But i felt a good amount of power being made. you will Certainly be happy!! I am!!

OH I may be looking to trade my K24-18's for a stock set of K24 if your interested?
FYI - the k24/18 are great i am just moving onto a bigger set up.

Are all the Shoes and clothes she buys worth it for you? If yes then have her go out and buy some more and tell that you just upgraded your tired turbo's ??

Tell me, Im actually taking it to the shop to get a new clutch put in, and just fantisizing about the upgrades more than anything to the turbos. Im leaning toward an sachs stage II clutch kit. What are you runing with the set up you have or with the set up you are going to have.

My K24/18g car made 100whp more than it did with plain jane K24s on a chipped X50 car (same car before and after dyno).

So we're talking about a 40 hp increase for about 5 to 6K? Is that really
that good of a deal?
