2100 to 2400 is the drone area for my tip...are the straight pipes louder in that range?

it may have been... it was around 30F out and this was taken around 1/4 mile from my house... i did let the engine warm enough for it to idle down from a cold start

Great videos...thanks for sharing. I noticed one of your comments compared the volume of the AWE straight pipes with the MillTek cat-less exhaust. Would you happen to know how the sound might compare to the FabSpeed muffler bypass that includes cats? Thanks a lot.

thanks steve... the sound level at 3k is comparable to the catless miltek... i have heard the fabspeed bypass with the cats and the fabspeed sounds a bit more tiney and the outlets are 2.5 inch compared to the 3 inch... overall the awe sounds deeper

if you want a bit more sound than a baby sneezing when u step on the gas... u could gut your stock exhaust. search the forum there is a couple of great topics on it i think by jcbmemphis

I appreciate the additional feedback. In your opinion do you feel that the overall sound volume and general livability of the AWE straight pipes is good enough for a 996TT that is only driven occasionally? I'm interested in an exhaust setup that I could drive to work perhaps one day per week in summer and other than that just on weekends, and the price of the AWE straight pipes is obviously very enticing, to say nothing of the stellar weight reduction. I'd been quietly convincing myself that the Fabspeed catted muffler bypass was a better idea, but it obviously costs a LOT more.

Happy New Year by the way!

I just installed these same straight pipes and there stupid loud! I'm coming from a straight 4" alum. exhaust on a 1000hp Supra and this seems louder...I'm not sure if I could actually live with this thing. Does anyone actually have this on semi-daily driver?

That's the best feedback I could hope for. There is no way I could live with that, as I know very well what a 4" exhaust on a big single Supra sounds like, and it's LOUD.
